Vote for black pipes. I don't like colored pipes myself. Looks clean though.

I think it could grow on my too. I might be tempted to paint the cam end covers red and a few other bits too to kind of go along with the theme. Some red piping on the seat would look rad too. It definitely is a GS and a work to be proud of buddy :)

I can see how the red pipes would grow on you, though I still think there is a bit too much red on the bike. Keep in mind YOU will be riding it every day (hopefully), so it is YOUR opinion that really matters. If you like it, rock it like its the best thing since sliced bread.

You now have a wild red-headed beast!!

Ride her accordingly!

Yeeee haaaaawwww!!!

The bike looks mean. Now you have this rat suzuki owner thinking of color/colour :P 8O :D :D

that paint will work great on the motor, but on the header it will probably burn off. Thats what it did to me anyway. Bike looks sweet.

rosco what kind of paint did you use ??? this is the new 1200 degree heat paint with ceramic. i hope it doesnt burn off and if it is true 1200 degree it shouldnt !!!!!

Just went out in the garage to confirm. Duplicolor High heat 1200 Deg ceramic paint. It kinda burned it off and looked like crap. Maybe I just suck at painting.

Well, I've been looking at the red head(er) for a couple of days trying to decide. I think it looks pretty good, as someone else said it grows on you. As for the color holding up, been told it depends on the prep work. White metal blast no primer and it will do pretty well. I've been told that the lighter the paint color the least likely it will last a long time, tends to yellow with age. Man that is a nice bike!! Ray

xDukeX,

Coming along nicely!!

Wonder if you could do me a favor next time you have your camera out.

Can you post a close up of where your wiring loom passes over the lower triple clamp?

I'm using a 96 GSXR 1100 front end (triple and forks). The lower triple clamp on the GSXR is flatter across the top surface than the old GS lower clamp which was somewhat stepped.

If I turn the forks hard left without having the wiring loom in place, the fork travels freely up to the stop. The two stops are just barely contacting and the ones on my lower triple clamp will need to be raised. The fork tubes seem to be in just the right position relative to contacting the tank when the stops touch.

If I turn the forks hard left with the wiring loom sitting on the top surface of the lower triple clamp the clamp pinches the loom against the frame long before allowing the forks to turn full left. The step in the old GS clamp allowed the wiring loom to just clear.

Are you using 954 triples and are they stepped on the bottom to allow your loom to run over the top?

There is enough slack for me to run the loom under the lower triple clamp but I'd prefer not to for appearance sake.

Thanks if you can help with the photo.

isleoman i ran the loom across to the right side and it is not pinching. there are two slots in the frame, i left it in the left slot then past the center of the triple tree and up the right side. you will have to prolly weld a couple blocks on the lower triple for steering stops. here is a pic of my stops.

Hey Duke, I like the headers in red. Never would've thought of it, but it looks pretty good.

Your forks are from a Gixxer, right? Why did you have to go with a 954RR triple set? Something about the bearings? I just got a set of the 2003 GSXR750 forks from Ebay, and it included the triples. I was very much hoping to keep them.

BTW, I don't see why the hi-temp paint wouldn't hold up if the exhaust manufacturers use it in black on their pipes. Just my 2 cents.

those 03's are quite short. If you go with them you will have clearance issues unless you are drag racing.

the 954 triples will give you another half inch of clearence. that is the only reason they are used. listen to katmans advice he is the guru of my project and he knows his stuff.
