    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

HA at school??? Hell no! Lol. I'm at a friend's house right now. We're working on a final project for my engineering class. We're supposed to be building a bridge out of spaghetti. God damn f*ing bridge. Super glue and fingers are mortal enemies man plus we've been set back like 3 times already so I'm happy its already almost finished
 
Wow, flashback. I once had to build a spaghetti tower for a class competition (I won). We used hot glue though. Doesn't glue skin quite as nicely as super glue, but it sure does leave some nice burns.

Well, that was fun. Back to being old.
 
AHH what up Beergood! Say Beer...i need a part if you have one laying around...a 7 inch headlight bucket that takes a 7 inch bulb...Ya got one?
 
AND ANOTHER THING> I was going thru your cafe build thread again (btw not only does that thing look sweet as all get out, but its been a bit of a source of inspiration on my bike) I was looking at that seat...do you still have the old tail section? and if so what would you charge a bum like me to build a seat like that?
 
Sorry, don't have an extra one. Mine isn't the original either, somewhere down the line my bike got a chrome Yamaha bucket. The good news is, that means that you can use pretty much any 7" bucket. They are a universal design.

Try these guys. I haven't ordered anything from them, but a couple friends have and they seem to be reasonably priced on used parts (apparently they have a giant scrap yard). Should be cheap/fast shipping seeing as they are also located in Ohio.

Yeah its an intro to engineering class. I'm a freshmen. We tried hot glue but it warped the spaghetti pretty bad. Plus it doesn't really hold instantly like the super glue does. The competition is tomorrow so I'll let you guys know how it goes

Does yours take a 7 inch bulb?
 
I am hoping to build a new tail this winter. Ifin that happens I might be persuaded to part with this one. This one definitely has it's flaws, you can tell it's a first effort (not that I'm not proud of it, I'm just very critical of my work).

A friend of mine and I actually talked about making a couple of molds so that we could make multiple parts in the hopes of selling them. I am still kicking that around, but I am limited on time/funds/space right now.

Thanks for the kind words. I really am pretty happy with my bike, but I am already to take it apart again and change the paint scheme.

We didn't get to choose our glue. One nice thing about hot glue was that it has a little built-in flex.

To be honest, I haven't had to replace the bulb, so I'm not 100% sure. I do think it's 7".
 
Well let me know...I have been kickin around the idea of attempting one of my own, but i really dont have an area to use 'glass in that wouldnt stink the house out. Not only that, but i dont really have the tooling to build a buck out of wood, nor do i have ANY experience with 'glass, and i would prolly save on my sanity buying one...lol Airtech has a pretty sweet one, but your design actually strikes my fancy a lil better. My frame i think is a bit shorter than yours, so i might have to mod it a bit, but who knows.

Alright well this is the seat. IT wasn't how I originally planned it too look but it was my bad because I gave him a pic of this one and told him that's how I wanted the SHAPE. Well he ended up covering the seat in the same style. Click the link and you'll see what I'm talking about

And for Beergood. Hehe this is what constant work on a large spaghetti bridge will result in. MINI BRIDGE BUILD OFF lol. Me and my buddy made little bridges. Only rule was that you could only use ten pieces of spaghetti

DOOD i think that seat looks good! How much did it run you if you dont mind me asking? And yeahh...that sprocket?? WTF???
 
To cover it... and mind you he had to add on the rear half of the seat's length in foam, was $30 bucks. The material is some marine grade material... Don't really know what it is. All I know is that its completely water proof and feels better than leather. Plus the guy says that its meant for durability in a salt water atmosphere and sun doesn't fade it. I only needed 2/3's of yard, actually probably less because 2/3s is alot and for all the material it only cost 10 bucks plus taxes. So about $40 dollars

AND the sprocket. Yeah well seeing as it was held on with a brass compression union cap and no washer I guess I really shouldn't have expected more. Looks like it had been on there since '85 lol
 
looks like its been on there since the bike was built lol...man i hope you didnt ride that thing with that sprocket on there...did you?? lol
 
NOPE thank god. I completely disassembled the bike before I ever rode it. Lucky I decided to take it apart huh
 
Man i think im going to have to break down and BUY my seat with this next paycheque...that and a Dyna S ignition...

Well yeah! Tho i dont think you would have gotten going very fast or gotten very far before something, the chain or the sprocket itself gave out...that looks to be a bit smaller in diameter...I wonder if that was some machined part the PO made or had made? Definately doesnt look stock
