A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

S'all good my friend :) I was more worried that id offended you. You'll find that there are some "purists" on here, and while they are great people, sometimes they dont understand those of us that like to mod our bikes...lol. Dont get me wrong, NEVER in a million years would a take a great looking GS or ANY vintage for that matter and chop it up to make a cafe bike...but i got mine in rough condition, and thats what i was looking to do with it anyway. Some likes choppers...Me likes oldschool gofasts..:)

Cool,
I guess I am turning my bike into a watered down bobber if there is such a thing.
Any thing that doesnt need to be there or I dont want there is gone!
Problem here though, is the very strict rules for having a bike on the road.
Because my has been off the road for a few years it has to be fully vinned before it can hit the road. And that means they go over with a fine tooth comb.

Yikes thats rough! There are a few states here that require inspections every so often, thankfully im not in one of them...As a matter of fact, ive been told that to get a Salvage title from a wrecked bike is all a matter of showing reciepts rather than them actually inpsecting the bike.

Tell me about it!
I have to get a signed form from the police to say that they have no interest in my bike BEFORE I can even take it to the testing station!
And then they start pulling it apart to check it.
My mate bought an x75 trumpy awhile back with a full restore no expense spared and it still took 3 trips to the testing station to get vinned.

poo on that man! Thanks for the compliments on the cafe btw...its still very much a work in progress...Ive a fellow GSR member putting together a price on a better 2valve motor for me, as this one runs, but the outer is pretty chewed up. Couple broken fins and scuffage and all. Will be adding a nice fiberglass seat, hopefully a new tank, the one thats on it is ok but its a roughshod bit of bondo job by me, as it was a first attempt at bondoing. Maybe some rearsets, maybe not...dunno yet..lol Job one is just getting the carbs dialed in at the moment. And for me thats a chore..lol Plus ive got two other smaller CC bikes to fix and try to sell around spring. Ironriot and i pretty much have been holding this thread down, and 97Intruder will chime in now and again, as well as a couple others...lots of good people here..im glad i found the place.

Sounds cool.
Also sounds like alot of $$ (here anyway!)
Not sure how far to go with the old girl.
The motor is all good the body is all bad.
Done all the easy stuff rewire etc
Just the panel and paint to go
I see you like metal heard any NZ stuff?

Im not sure...ive heard alot but not necessarily always knowing where its from. Im always looking for good new stuff to listen to.

8 foot sativa, Blindspot or Shihad (called Pacifier in the 'states i think)
Shihad started to get a bit comerical radio but early stuff is worth a listen.

Ill have to hunt them up! You ever hear Meshuggah or Dilenger Escape Plan?

Meshuggah-YES, Dilenger Escape Plan-NO
I guessing you like Tool maybe APC possibly early NIN

Dilenger is good stuff, but you have to be in the mood for it...its just amazing technicallity for technicallities sake. Tool is prolly a top 3 for me...and APC was good untill the third album. NIN i have an on again off again with...liked early stuff, hated later stuff, and the new album i actually think may be one of thier best from a songwriting standpoint.

Unearth? Clutch? DemonHunter? All That Remains??

pantera

pantera

that is one of my all time favorite bands. not trying to hi jack your thread.i love metal as well. finally bought an i pod. trying to get all my cds on it.what about system of a down, or rage against the machine?

Tampora man i love them!! HAHA just kidding I do like Pantera...and..this is kinda creepy, but the last time my band played Al Rosa Villa i stood in THE EXACT spot Dimebag died in. RIP Dime...

Unearth is throwback..kinda metalcore i guess but more metal than KSE. All That Remains is HEAVY and DemonHunter is metal core....but christian, which for a christian metal band their first album was unstoppable. Next ones..ehhh Clutch has evolved a bit...they used to be a oddball Hardcore/SoutherfriedRock type crossover...but since have become a really heavy bluesy/metal/jam band...very good stuff.
