A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

God looking at that seat again makes me realize how FUGLY it is. I need to start chopping it but I'm scared lol
www.airtech-streamlining.com check the vintage section...bet you find something there you'll like...you'll have to take measurements for your frame rails...but they have a couple Harley style "BIG BUTT" seats and cowls...and they're decen on price....

You keep messin with me and that will end up a cafe instead of a chop :P lol

Look anything like this
Superbikebars.jpg

10 bucks sounds good. And those grips were non existant actually. There was almost no material except for the chrome end covers. Alright so how do we do this? Money order? Or do you just want me to stuff some cash in the box with the gauges?

yup looks like those...Now they're just the bars and the grips and throttle sleave...the switches are spoken for (one for me and one for Steve..) and shove some cash in there is fine...ill pull it out and turn round to send you those crash bars.

Check this out...this is my decided seat for my Cafe

and those grips arent much better just to warn you...the ends have been cut out for barend mirrors...which i scavenged. but they're a bitch to get off without completely ruining, so you can do what you want with them...lol

And what do you know but my tank turned up as well.
Once I put the littles to bed down to the shed I headed
Cranked the sounds and went for it!
Put the new exhaust (home made), New brake master cylinder, bled the brakes, fitted new indicators etc etc
Once I was finished for the night I took few pix (with my phone)

Thanks,
Hard to find here by the way!
I called just about every bike wrecker and shop, in NZ and Aus I could find to get this one.
It took months to find it! and when I did it was cheaper than some beat old ones i'd been looking at.
Now I have to decide on paint for the side covers and tail.
I figure it is not an S so why not do something a bit different

Im lookin for a 750 tank (pre 80s..over here they changed them to those crappy (IMO) looking "coffin" style tanks....) Ive found a couple...and paint im not worried about cos im gonna paint em anyway...i have one now but i had to bondo the ****ee out of it.. and im not a bondo guy...lol The one you saw in my cafe project pics is the one i have...with my bondo job...

Bondo and me dont go together lol
Thats why I had to find another tank!
The plastics are all good (just the wrong colour)
Now I just need to book the spraybooth at work!

A pre 80 1000 tank is the same as a 750 tank isnt it?? or do you know??

I THINK so
When I was looking a dude in OZ told me that a tank off a shafty wont fit on a chain bike (could be BS) other than that i think that they are interchangable
