DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I'm starting to like the sound of it, and I wonder if its actually running lean or not... no blueing so far?

Can't you tell by the plugs? I like the pipes, they look good. On my 850 GL the baffles are shot so it sounds pretty throaty.

By the way, those hills in the background look familiar. Are you near the north eastern range of the Colorado rockies?

oh right! thanks for reminding me to grab the plug wrench ;-)

good eye! boulder front range

Hey Beard, Looks to be progressing nicely. The shorty pipes look good. Ray

No worries. KISS, right?

I thought so. Where is it Rollinsville, Nederland (my sister used to live in Ned)?

Nice Bike!

Nice Bike!

Looks just like an "L"! - Actually a lot like my L, minus the side saddles! :-DOnly difference is those non-extended front forks...nice job!

thanks all, I'm pretty pleased with it!! but I do want to baffle it a little bit more.

emjay, actually its from a south west boulder neighborhood that backs up to open space, those are just south of the flatirons. 'course the residents thought I was nuts laying in the road taking pictures  but at least you recognized them so it was all worthwhile!!

put the old bars back on and blacked out the shocks. I kinda like the way it's looking these days (if I do say so myself)

yeah, actually had some L bars for a bit, but decided to go back to G. looking for some even straighter bars too. not sure why, just to play I guess. I have some mini apes on the 850 that I thought about moving over, but the brake line barely made it to the L bars, and then they had to be up really high. unless I change the whole brake line system I think I'll leave it be...

I'm near-ish to chatauqua, but I just drove up the neighborhoods until I found a nice vantage of openspace and flatirons.

got some free time this weekend and swapped out the mufflers again, I was going to lose my hearing with those turnouts. I wonder if I stuffed them full of glass wool if they'd lose that edge...

good shot of the shiny front wheel I stole from my 850L when I got new tires for the 650. had to replace a rotor on it, but now it's solid and much cleaner than the one I've been running. put the 650's with a semi decent tire still on the 850. good enough to rip around the block and see if what I do working on it helps or hurts.

best shot of the pipes. these things are still from a harley, but they were im the recycling metal bin one day at eco cycle, the whole exhaust system in fact!! I took it all and cut off parts to build up my turnouts, never thought I'd use these, but they sound great, and with the sheet metal "duct" tape they don't pop one bit on decel. I'll probably take it off just to see if it makes a difference, but for now it's nice.

all stealth now, I can't even hear myself coming anymore...

I have some pipes like that (more recent pic) someone gave me after we were at a swap meet with another group and she didn't sell them and didn't want to take them home.

Is the tank still a G tank? It looks more narrow than the typical G tank. Sorry, I didn't read the other threads 8-[

no worries, no it's an L tank, I think from an 81 or 82 850. got it from Jeckler I believe, four years ago with the same paint as is on it now.

that weird extra frame part in the side view is a piece of plywood that spans the 1 inch gap from the G mounts.

Hey,
Lookin' good there. Wanna cruise out real fast and make a road trip with me to Indiana, bradleymaynar will be meeting up with me on the way south for a short run..........:-D:-D

Snowbeard, are you a telemark skier? I just swtched over a few years ago. It's taking some time, but I'm getting used to it and loving it.

I said I got stuck floating it, funny how that air in the tires is just barely short of keeping it afloat...:-s

wow, when it rains it pours, got some saddlebags yesterday that are newer than I've had so far, they didn't even start off with holes in my possession!

then got some new bars today, having put such "respectable" pipes on there last week, I have a sudden urge to conform...:-s

I might even paint that tank sometime.

What forks are those, they're significantly lower compared to my 550L. The bottom of your tank is parallel to the floor which is what I'm looking to do as well. Thanks
