I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Throttle cable mishap today

Strange thing happened just a while ago. I was riding around in town and all of a sudden my throttle went slack and the bike came to an idle.

After pulling over and investigating I found that the cable had busted at the mechanism. (I recently put a new one on because the original was frayed. Deland Suzuki 10/12 $19.43)

I ended up putting a screwdriver under the mechanism to give me an intermediate idle and limped home using the clutch and brakes.

I just took everything apart and found that the one PULL cable that had snapped off at the motor end was only half the problem. The other cable had also come apart at the end inside the throttle assembly.

There seems to be no obstruction in the mechanism at the motor or throttle assembly. I am baffled... and also hoping I can find someone local that has a couple reasonably priced cables here in Dallas/Fort Worth.

As an add on question. I have found that riding this weekend is out since I cannot find the cables locally. does anyone have experience with the different brands of replacement cables?

The prices are all over the place from $12 on ebay and other vendors....to $20 for Motion Pro brand and to $37 here at a STEALERSHIP.

Motion Pro are tough to beat. They can even do custom work.

Motion Pro works, but Suzuki cables are far better. Did you grease the cable ends so they don't have to bend everytime you move the throttle?

Wish you were closer..I got a new set still in the plastic wrappers I would give you.

Why not call G&S Suzuki - They are out in Wichita Falls and just as good on the pricing as Boulevard.
