    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Throttle sticking @ 2300 rpm Please Help!

I started a different thread a couple of days back with a similar question. I should have posted it there. (sorry) I have cleaned the carbs, replaced my o-rings and started the bike up. It was running fine. However, once the bike warmed up the throttle began sticking again. It only stops right above 2000 rpm's. If I give it some gas it will come down. What could it be? I have cleaned the carbs twice. They are spotless!

Didn't you start this a day or two ago in another thread? I would recommend continuing it in your original thread to take advantage of the historical posts contained therein so that everybody can see what's already been suggested and discovered relating to the issue.
 
does the throttle actually "stick" or do the rpms just hang. They may be "hanging" because you have improperly adjusted idle air screws. In order to let the bike idle good and to compensate for this you upped the idle speed. This causes the rpms to hang for a second before coming back down to an idle.. It is half on the idle circuit and half on the needles... maybe...

Did you replace the intake pipe (boot) O-ring? If not, that is most likely the problem (as I stated in your other thread).

Success!!

I took off my gas tank and sprayed around the carb boots with carb cleaner. Nothing happened so I decided to check my mixture screws. I took off the gas tank and checked the air mixture screws. They were almost all the way in! I turned them out a few turns, put the tank back on and started the bike. SUCCESS! I rode it around the block a few times and reved it at every stop sign. NO STUCK IDLE!! WOOO HOOO!! Well, with all your help we have solved another issue. Thank you everybody. As always, your help is always appreciated. ( I will be sure to post this in my original thread. )

Now that you have the bike running, get it running right. :shock:

Get the bike up to full operating temperature.
Take the tank off, but find a way to supply gas to the bike while it's off.
Turn the idle mixture screws in to seat lightly, counting the turns as you go.
Record the number of turns for each carb, set them back where they were.
Start the engine, adjust master idle screw for 1200 rpm.
Turn the idle mixture screw on carb #1 slowly in both directions, listening for highest rpm. Reset master to 1200 rpm.
Repeat on the other three carbs.
Turn the idle mixture screws in to seat lightly, counting the turns as you go.
Record the number of turns for each carb, set them back where they were.
Yes, you just counted the turns again, but this is the setting you want to remember for reference.
