    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

In case it helps, Honda use bright yellow wires for their stator to VRR and green is ground. Too bad other makes don't use the same system as some aren't consistent with ground color even through their own models.

Some trial and error with a test light will usually work out the stator inputs to the VRR. It's often possible to work backwards from the shop manual's wiring diagram to the pin-outs.

If that doesn't work, try a Honda web group and ask someone to look at their bike of the model concerned and give you the wire colors by position in the wiring plugs onto the VRR. That information and the wiring diagram will be all you need.

It helps if you narrow the category on ebay- search in "motorcycle parts and accessories", so you don't wind up looking at window regulators and auto parts,but remember that lots of ATV's, jetski's and sleds use Shindengen R/R's also.
 
The people from P.S.N. have great prices. I bought a stator cover with emblem for the low-low price of $5 + shipping. :)

Hopefully you got it for the sale price! When you get it, please email me the markings on it to satisfy my curiosity! I pretty sure it's a Shindengen, but there are copycats out there.

First, I would verify the outputs but it looks like a couple of positive outs, and two grounds, or a ground and a "sense" wire (7 wires total).

Im thinking he isn't going to be willing to send me a $50 unit to replace the $12 one he couldnt send, would be nice though.

He doesn't seem to list part numbers in the text and only sometimes has them in the pictures. I have, of course, seen your list and Matchless' more complete list as well.
 
Very strange! I had that R/R on my watch list and yesterday it said it had been sold for $20.
Anyways try these;

both 6 wire units; one seller confused about voltage (4.9 v ??), apparently he's trying to interpret Shindengen numbering scheme, but just ignore him.

Yes, you must be careful when using the Ebay. You may find that you usually know more than the seller. ;)

My list is just the blue highlighted units from Matchless' list. I did not include those that are for 6v systems, used with single or 3 phase alternators, or field winding controlled alternators. Many of the others will probably work but may have fitment issues. So I just stuck to the known good stuff. :)

Armed with more information you can now expand your search and find the right deal. Good luck.

Good news. He agreed to send this one instead.

Its a SH541E-12 and it has 8 wires. I hope it is compatible.
 
Sure it will. Standard 8 wire Honda setup (IIRC, BC uses this one also). 2 red 12V out wires, 2 green ground wires, 3 yellow stator wires, 1 black sense wire.
I have a variant of that one and it works just dandy.
