All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The 1980 GS550E is coming due for a new set of tires soon. It has been running Pirelli MT66s and they've been fine. Good grip and good mileage. This bike is set up as a cafe racer and has a mostly stock motor except for tuned carbs and a 4-into-1. On the 1975 Honda CB400F I'm restoring I plan to run Avon Roadrunners. They work great in this application. The 1980 Yamaha XS650 has Metzeler ME880 Marathons, and I love them. I ride with a pretty fast group with one friend on an '83 Honda VFR750 and the other on a 2002 Honda 919. The 919 just went through a set of Dunlop 208s. I thought they were okay. I think I'll put Roadrunners on the GS but would appreciate other suggestions. God bless the GS!

try the pirelli sport demons, i think you will be vary happy especially if you like to ride fast and do the twisties.

GS550 TIRES

GS550 TIRES

I've used Bridgestone Spitfire S11 tires; 100-90 19 front, 110-90-18 rear.
With tubes and fresh spoke protector rubbers.
I've removed the heim joint linkage from the shift lever and replaced it with a custom bent 5 inch long shift lever so I can shift while going through the twisties. I've mounted ACE (or Clubman) handle bars with the BMW SS90 type small fairing with sport mirrors from CHAPPERAL.
I also cut the outer 1/2 of my rear brake pedal and mounted both the shift lever and the rear brake lever angled down so I can sit up close to the gas tank and lean into the twisties.
Cincinnati Ohio has some great roads- if you're ever near by, let me know-[/img]

I have the sport demons with about 2k on them. So far so good and little wear that I can tell (mine is an 80 550E).
