If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I like your tie-downs on the rear.

(K)not everybody knows how to tie them. :encouragement:

.

Hey thanks everybody!!!!
I did not crash!!! Whew :unconscious:…
3 guys crashed, nobody hurt :star: You could crash from just balk in a corner, so you have to be cool and tweak your way out of a mistake, and I had few every period.
The big engine was so easy to manage, I was in 3rd the whole track!!! Nobody passed me, (well except when the coaches let people through and even then I was right on their as for the rest of the period.
Lot of olde guys and a few foxy old gals too!!!!:cool::cool:
I bought the photo package from the track camera bug, so I'll post those later when available.

Lookin' medium fast, glad I have this photo. I see I'm not at all leaned out much, I was fooling myself. Now I can work on that.

That is very normal. Once you touch a knee down you get a much better idea of how far over you are, but until you do it feels like a cliff you are dangling over the edge of. How did the bike work for you? With that big engine you probably had to make about 4 shifts a lap...;)

I only had to put it in 3rd! It's got the tallest gears on a bike I've ever ridden (92 GSXR1100 engine).
Riding with the others in a novice group, I can't be charging up on somebody's as.
When they let us go free for a couple sessions, I was using 3 gears, experimenting with 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
Thanks everybody, sexagenarians rule!!!

is the surface at gingerman still nice? last year it was pristine.....

They said it was newly paved, I think they meant last year, and I remember that day (7-3-15) they said we were the 1st to ride on it.

Cool you got out there again on a new machine. How did the wheel and swingarm mods work out?
Looks like perfect day weather wise.

Thanks!
The whole bike worked great, I rubbed off any chicken stripe. Any street tire would have worked in 93? heat, mine were covered with gummy balls. Only danger would be going with too soft a racing tire.
The people are real friendly.

That's nice to hear. The people at the local track here (Putnam Park Road Course) are dicks.

Sorry to hear that Brett. I never been there, probably because they don't allow camping. Maybe the only track I know that don't.
However, we're told that if we leave any debris behind at any track, the owners will charge our group STT per item.
BTW: At our riders meeting the Director had all the vets stand behind him and gave a short ab-lib speech about military service.

They don't like motorcycles at Putnam, and only have about four track days a year for them. Back in '09, I went out there with a coworker who was doing a track day on his '07 GSXR750. That bike was crazy fast, and he was too. He was built for riding fast, at 5'7" and about 140 lbs. soaking wet. Anyway, I was there to help with trailering and setup, and also was to be a spare mechanic for him if he had any technical difficulties during the day.

I got to talking to a few of the staff people there while he was riding, they were all of the opinion that motorcycles shouldn't be allowed on the track due to too many "incidents", and one told me to not be surprised if bikes were banned from the track pretty soon.

Looking at their schedule for this year, it appears there are only half a dozen motorcycle days this year.

Not bike friendly, not my kind of folks.

Just did a track day July 3, at Grattan Raceway, Michigan

Not my video, but gives a good idee how intense this track is, with blind corners, up and down hills, and turn 3, freaky blind reverse camber left.
BTW: I had me olde Kat up to 130MPH on the straight, but was chicken wimp through turn 3.
Funny, showing up with my 26 year old Kat, was like going to a wedding in a 26 year old suit_:oops:
