    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

81 gs1100e. On going prob. w/ right blinkers. Bulbs o.k., tried 2 diff. relays, new signal switch, new ign. switch. disconnected cancel, didn't know i even had it, still same prob. Left worked without it even pluged in and same deal w/ the RT not working/ buzz. Checked the ground I could find at the front, seems good. running lights work & so do the left blinkers. Checked connections I think are involved, clean & die elec. grease. I can find no bare wires. The relay includeing 2 others all do the same. Left works but the right when switched buzzes at the relay. Took the cover off the relay... again LT. works but RT. sticks open it looks like & buzzes. I'am running out of ideas! They both worked until the switch took a crap & was replaced. Maybe a prob. were it connects to the cluster/indicator? The indicator light comes on for the LT. blinker but nada other than the buzz for the RT. Any ideas? Thanks.
 
A buzz when turning on the right indicator would seen to indicate a short to ground. Are you sure you didn't pinch a wire somewhere?
 
Rusty. Boy have I looked for that very thing but have not found anything, I wish I would find something! I may have to dig deeper. Might have to start pulling the harness apart. Any other ideas? Thanks
 
Swap the right and left turn signals and see if the problem follows, it's not much of a start but it's something you could eliminate completely.
 
I did try new bulbs but no go. I may try swapping blinkers, like I said, I'am running out of ideas. Thanks guy's. Anything ealse? Any idea is a good one at this point!
 
Maybe a glimmer of light! took some advice from a member. Disconnected the front blinker/switch around and nothing. Today dissconected the rear & at least the panel light comes on!! A step in the right direction I do believe.
 
Rusty. Thanks for the interest! No the FT. did not light up & I was getting frustrated. Just now removed the rear & wouldn't you know... The ground was pinched, from a prev. tinkering. ha ha. Gotta laugh at yourself sometimes! Wow how could I miss that, 48 yrs. & you would think a person would learn! Funny. I will redo it here in a bit but I'll bet that was the problem. Thanks again for the help!!!

That hurts don't it?
Whenever I have a problem, and I did some work in that area, it's usually because of something I overlooked putting it back together. So now when I have a problem I'm thinking "OK, time to recheck my work"
For instance, my bike wouldn't turn over, and I'm thinking, whats up with this? I pushed started it and on the ride back was thinking what I had done to the bike recently, and I thought, I had just repainted the headlight shell. Sure enough I opened the headlight and the wiring was so tightly packed that it disconnected the splice to the clutch safety switch.
Now that was an easy fix.
