DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Can someone please give me the diameter of the turn signal lenses on a 78 or 79 GS1000. neither of my bikes came with them. I have some 3" round LED lights that I am wondering if they will fit the stock turn signal buckets. And if they do fit i will need to buy some if any one has any laying around. Thanks

anyone? I just need to know what the diameter of the lens is so I know whether to buy stock turn signals or figure out another way to mount my signals. Thanks

I suspect they're all the same, but don't know ...

A 1981 GS650GL has 3" round lights

thanks! I'll assume the diameter is the same for a 79. I just dont have anything to measure since I have no turn signals at all. I'll order some stock ones and if I can get the led's to fit I'll post up the results. These are just 2.75" round trailer marker lights with 5 bright LED's, the resistor is already built in. thanks again I've been waiting for someone to answer so I can order already.

If they are marker lights, they might not be bright enough for turn signals.

They will most likely do the job at night, but most of us do most of our riding during the day.

.

You make a good point, but I have been thinking about this for awhile. I use these all the time at my job and they are adequate (not great) for day riding and at night they shine like crazy. Anyone got a pair of used signals with or without lenses laying around they'd want to sell? I can trade stuff too.
