Turn Signal Toggle automatically resets blinkers

I'd imagine that there's something internal on my turn signal lever that is missing. WHen I pulled it apart there looks like there's a small loop to hook a small spring up to that would keep the lever "up". When I turn on a blinker left or right and let the lever return to center it automatically resets the blinker. I either have to hold the lever up or to which ever side I'm turning.

I looked at a few online parts supplier's fiche and don't see any internal parts other than the lever itself which is not available anyway. Any pictures of what's in there? SOmething I can fab up with a small spring from a hardware store?

There isn't a spring. there s a thin curve washer that goes under the lever which holds it up and stops it from shorting to ground an cancelling the signals.

Hmmm. I'll take it apart and see what I can rig up.

Small curved washer is like a thrust washer..follow me?? That goes on, then a thin flat washer, then the lever.
