A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Does anybody have a photo of 82 850 gl indicators they can post.I'm looking at some on eBay and they have round stem, not sure if that's correct.

just fyi - most indicators for sale are aftermarket parts, (nothing wrong with them),
if you're after oem stuff they are hard to find and expensive.

That may work but it's not a stock Suzuki. The square mounting end measures around 15mm (.600").
The whole unit is still available from Suzuki but rather expensive.
I dont know what you consider correct but I consider it OEM or NOS. I need some for my '83 and I'm saving my money for new.
I would consider the stem for mounting to the ears on the ones you pictured. There should be threads sticking out the end.

notice the "Shape and color match the original indicators" ?
For that price it's very likely not original, but you may not need them to be ?
They look great.

You are correct, those aren't original but they do look great.

time to get acquainted with the partslist :D

Here is the partslist for the 1982 GS850 GL

As you can see, there are 2 different models 850GL that year : model D with square plastic indicators,
and model Z with the round chrome ones.

Mine are round ones with round stems the stems are short so think there off a gn instead of gs and were on the bike when I bought but wemoto in the UK say its round ones with square stems. Think I'll go for round ones.

Wemoto is not a reliable source if you are looking for parts.
They have a small list of parts that may or may not be the correct parts.
Not to be compared to a comprehensive list like i mentioned to you.
In that list you can clearly recognize the round stem the Z models use.

You may have to add a ground cable, but i guess even the Wemoto ones will fit.
