A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Re: Turn Signals

1. Did the old turn signals flash normally?
2. Did you connect the new turn signals to the same wires that the old turn signals were connnected to?
3. Do the new turn signals have bulbs just like the old ones did?

Aftermarket signals don't like stock suzuki flasher relays, replace the flasher relay with an electronic one from a auto patrs store. Check how many prongs the stock unit it has, before you go shopping.

Thanks guys, it didn't have turn sigs when i bought it. i'm thinking it's the flasher. Can't find it in the manual, can someone tell me where to look on a 82 GS11E. i'm guessing it's round??

If you have the 1100, with the self cancelling signals, it is one big unit near the fuse panel. Unfortunatly these break and are very expensive from what I have heard. You can convert it to a normal flasher but you have to rewire the whole signal light system. First make sure the stock unit is faulty, then see if you can locate the stock flasher/cancel/relay first, get a price and make your decision from there.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

i tried to install one of those turn sig integraters ( i have an R1 tail light) and that was the problem,i guess, ran down and bought the side mount ones and put on the tail, it works, weird thing is i even bought a NEW flasher and it still don't work, but the old one does?????

The flasher will only work within certain current loads. If the bulbs are two big/small or the connection for the bulbs are not good, they can play up (been there done that years ago!).

On the 78 GS1000 I also cleaned out the flasher unit, lots of deposits and the contacts were not the best. It works consistently now.
