Unconventional replacement for silicone spray on plug wires

So, last night I was putting together new plug wires, and in the instructions, you cut the wire to length, and then slip a coil boot over the wire, then strip and crimp. The directions said that "a little silicone spray on the wire will make it easier to slide the boot down the wire." What they meant was "...POSSIBLE to slide the boot down the wire." So I'm stuck, no silicone spray, too late to go to the store. As I sit there in the living room, looked downtrodden of having my evening project derailed, my wife looks up and says "Why don't you try some Astroglide?"

Works like a champ! On the other hand (pardon that pun, if you will), I'm feeling strangely attracted to my coil wires now...

Anyway, it's safe on rubber, non-toxic, etc...

Astroglide and KY are both good for such things and they're water soluble so you can actually wash it off and dirt and **** won't stick.

Never heard of Astroglide but I think I get the idea.

built a rear shock mount bar for my old 85 Suzuki SJ410, had the same prob getting the shocks on the new mount and had NOTHING and was getting frustrated, couldnt drive to the store for supplies... Grabbed the AG and walked outside, girlfriend asked what I was doing, then we both shared a good laugh when i crawled under the truck and the shocks slid right on, 2 minutes and I was done! (wakka wakka!)

man do I miss that rig... and not the EX! :-#

Better than the cheap KY ... absolutely yes ...

better than KY intrigue ... NO, not even in the same class ...

The silicone based personal lubricants are soooooo much better than the water based ones ... feel more natural ... don't dry out or get sticky ... and you need much less ...

Spend the big bucks and treat yourself, you'll never go back.

(the silicone ones are kind of like an oil ... does that make this an oil thread)

Sure. It's water based.
