A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Vavle Guide Seals Question

Hi all,

Doing a rebuild on an '82 GS850GL with a Vesrah Complete rebuild kit. Unfortunately I managed to break one of the valve guide seals while installing it. I bought an NOS set of off eBay,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2420709030&category=35595&rd=1,
Vesrah #VS-3001, OEM #09289-07002. My model is listed on the back of the package, but the seals are just slightly larger than the ones I got with the complete kit. It's enough of a difference so they won't seat properly on the guides.

So my questions are these: Has anybody had this problem, or know of a different part number to use? Does anyone happen to have any extra valve guide seals for an '82 GS850GL?

Thanks for any help.

Adam

I bought a set of Vesrah VS-3001 too! are you saying they won't work on a GS850??

All I'm saying is they don't fit my '82 GS850GL. I checked the guys feedback, and it seems everyone else was happy with theirs, but I don't know what model bike they have. Maybe they just hadn't tried to install them yet when they left the feedback. The VS-3001 is for a whole bunch of Suzuki's from the late '70s and early '80s. Seems like all the GS models are listed on the back of the package along with a few other models.

I assume you got yours off of eBay as well? I talked to the seller. He seems to have some contact with Vesrah, and is going to see what he can find out. I'll let you know what happens.

Hey, if you get yours and they fit let me know (along with your model). They come in a pack of ten, so if yours work out maybe you could send me the extras? You can email me privately to work something out.

I have a 79 GS850, wasn't planning to use mine until maybe next year? Yes we probably bought them from the same guy?
