If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Does anyone know if the complete engine gasket kit that Dennis Kirk sells includes the gaskets and o-rings required to rebuild the cam chain tensioner?

two weeks ago I bought a kit for my 83550E... when I get home from work I can check and give you what the parts list is..

The Vesrah "complete" kits I have used do NOT include the seal and o-rings for the cam chain tensioner and do not contain the gasket for the base of the tensioner.

They also do not contain the intake boot o-rings (not sure if your bike uses them) or the seals in the tachometer drive.

I'm pretty sure the o-ring for the nose of the starter and the oil filter o-ring are not included, either. You also do not get any of the o-rings and seals you would need if splitting the cases, such as the crank seal, transmission output shaft seals, etc.

What they do include has always been very good quality, though.

Off the top of my head, that would be:
head gasket and o-rings
cylinder base gasket and o-rings
valve cover gasket
breather cover gasket
exhaust seals (cylinder head to exhaust header)
stator cover gasket
clutch cover gasket
valve stem seals
head bolt/nut seals
starter cover gasket
ignition (points) cover gasket
oil pan gasket

The "top end" kits omit the oil pan, clutch, ignition, starter, and stator cover gaskets.

Funny, I just got one in yesterday. The kit does include all mentioned here. (?) The head gasket does not thave a label for TOP, which side should I use to face up? The head gasket has one smooth side and the other is smooth as well but looks crimped around the cylinder openings.

Thx
