vesrah rear drum shoe for 1978 gs550

Hi all,

So recently, I purchased a set of vesrah rear brake shoe (vbs-306) for my 78 gs550. Anywho, I started opening up the package and noticed that they were wider by at least 10mm compared to my original shoes.

On Vesrah's parts list, it lists the vbs-306 as the correct one for my bike....on the vendor's page it lists that model number as the correct one.


However, it doesn't fit...if i was to put it on, the part that holds both the shoes would stick out of the drum....

I already emailed the vendor...hoping they could help me figure out this the oddity.

Anyone... know what rear brake drum shoes will fit a '78 gs550?

I got a hold of the vendor and found out why it doesn't fit... apparently, my 78 uses a 1977 drum which was slightly narrower/smaller...thus the shoes not fitting.

Anywho... The shoes are going back to the vendor and they're sending me out a NOS set of vesrah brake shoes that fit my motorcycle. I end up eating the cost on the return shipping though. ehh...
