A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I just had the other brand of cruise control installed on my gs1150 but the lock lever sits way up on top and is very cumbersome to use, I had a Vista Cruise on my Yamaha before and it worked great, but at the stores there is no Suzuki kit for the Vista Cruise only the Universal kit.
Has anyone used one of the other Vista kits for other brand bikes on their Suzuki? I would figure you would just have to modifiy it slightly (dremel) to go around the bars since they are bigger

I have the standard Vista Cruis and a universal kit here, so I can compare them well.

The standard (cheaper) one is supposed to grip around the throttle cable to keep from turning. On the 650L and 850L that I have here, the fingers are not quite long enough for a good grip, and if you force them a little, they still leave the whole unit quite loose on the handlebar.

I have the universal (more expensive) unit mounted on my wifes 850L and it works quite well. There was a little modification to the hand grip that was necessary to get it to work with the grips we have installed, but it looks good and works well.

On my previous bike, a Kawasaki Voyager 1300, I also had a universal unit installed on it. Again, the fingers just did not have a good grip on the throttle cable, which left a lot of slack in the whole system.

If you are going to get one, splurge, spend the $35, get one from California Sport Touring.

I got this extremely tasty throttle lock/bar end weight set from Manic Salamander for Xmas. Much more elegant in function and looks than the Vista-cruise, methinks, and the reduction in vibration is amazing.

I think I will try the universal kit , that Salamander one is nice, I might have to try those Salamander handle bar weights on my HD, that thing will vibrate your fingernails loose!
