A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So as it always seems to happen, a perfectly nice fitting fuel t on a set of VMs ive rebuilt for another GSR member has shrunk in the matter of a couple of days and now fits a bit sloppy in its port. I've tried a few different things I've read to get the rubber to swell back up or expand a bit, it's currently soaking in a concoction now. But I dunno if it'll work and of course Z1s site says they're out of the Alu/oring replacements...
Any suggestions fellas?

What about cycle o rings.com........

These fuel Ts don't use orings. ;) they're milled out of...whatever, Alu, pot metal..., and then the ends are coated in rubber...
I
Should correct this..they actually look to be cast honestly...

Just because Suzuki went cheap doesn't mean we have to.
The carb bodies are the same as the older ones that used o rings.

The spacing is incorrect... Already looked at that option :) fuel Ts on the VMs are wider than the CV.

If I could afford even a cheap lathe, ($1000) I'd already have em :p

Found a mini lathe that'll handle up to 16" long and 4" diam...still $600 sheesh.
Hahaha

What about a cheep china freight. Mini lathe.....or modding the current parts to use o rings

What length do you need? I might have one with me.

.

I have a couple actually, they all just suffer from the same issue...
I don't have em in front of me to measure but they're roughly 1.5 times longer than CV fuel Ts. I can give you an exact in the AM..

China freight. Love that place. Again..4-600 bucks. Checked the other day when I was there.

I could possibly make some grooves with a dremmel...not exactly precise. If they were for my bike id give it a go...but these are for someone else and I don't want to let em down with a leaky janky fuel T..

What strikes me as odd is that ALWAYS the transfer tubes (which have the same coating) seem to fit tight, never shrink...but the Ts do. I did notice the transfer tubes seem to be brass with the coating over it, whereas the T, as I said, is something else entirely.

Try using a drill to turn the piece and then cut it witha saw.........oh and im on aphone so sorry for the spelling

Does not matter if you are using a phone, a "smart" phone, laptop, desktop, whatever, the secret is PROOFREAD BEFORE HITTING "SEND". :p

I searched ebay motors using the terms "mikuni" and "fuel tee" and got a list of three items including the one I linked to.

Are you talking about these?

Sometimes the spell checker and the predictive text thing combine to change words into unintelligible gibberish, and sometimes the fine print is too small to read. Sometimes things are going to be spelled wrong. This happens on my laptop as well as my phone.

Mostly it's because nobody in the USA cares about appearing incredibly stupid anymore.

Like this teenage punk the other day, bermuda shorts around his knees prison style, stupid baseball hat all sideways, standing there waiting for the light to change, picking his nose and texting at the same time. The light turns green and a Jeep with a loud pipe, an automatic and a four cylinder engine floors it slowly down the road only to be cut off but another idiot in an SUV wandering across the road aimlessly.

Everytime I return from a road trip I am amazed how the idiocracy is progressing.

That just leads to my plea to PROOFREAD, PROOFREAD, PROOFREAD, then SEND.

I am afraid you hit the nail on the head with that one.

I totally agree, along with stupidphone shorthand-'guna' for 'going to', for instance. A form of laziness, I guess, of which I'm certainly guilty, but not in this instance.
