    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I'm planning on tearing my carbs down and cleaning them today, but the only PDF I can find that has a working link is for CV carbs. (The VM link keeps saying link not found) Is there that much of a difference in how to tackle VM carbs that I should worry if I print off the CV PDF? I'm not a complete paste eater so I can figure out most obvious differences, but I am far from knowledgeable in this area as well if that makes any kind of sense. Anyone? Thanks in advance.

The link is on the GSR Homepage too. In the Garage area.

Oops. It seems like Frank as moved that file. I'll have to fix that link on my "mega-welcome" page. Sorry. I do have a copy on my website and the original is in the Garage Section of the GSR homepage. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Ah okay, thanks all. I had been accessing it exclusivly through the mega welcome. Off to go break some carbs down and get to scrubbing now. :D

Hi,

I had been accessing it exclusivly through the mega welcome.

Most of the guides on my website are in PDF format. Feel free to download the files to your computer. They are small, 1 or 2 MB.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Will do Cliff, thanks a lot for the info there by the way. Now all I need to do is deal with all those stubborn aluminum screws!

I started tearing down but didn't get very far when a screw that holds the shaft from sliding out of the slide assembly stripped out. :( I've got an impact driver on the way from H.F., but it really put a damper on things. Just needed to express some discontent about it to people who understand just what something like that can do to your day.

Hi Mr. Gonzo,

I finally got around to fixing the link on the "mega-welcome" page so that it points to the VM carb rebuild guide. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
