VM22SS float height

Hi all, trying to work out float height for my 77 GS550.

I originally followed the VM rebuild guide and used 24mm

I thought I would check them when replacing gaskets and discovered the owners manual states 26mm

Any preferences? I have changed them to 26mm but would like a second opinion before I put them back on the bike.
Unfortunately I cannot find any tube suitable to check my fuel height

The Suzuki service manual say 26mm, but they give you a range of 1mm when checking the fuel level with a clear tube, so I'd say split the diff and go for 25mm. I think that's where I set mine, if I recall
