Hello,

Can i somehow measure that regulator or just swap another one? Dont know yet how its working, bike not start and im just cleaning carbs and checking valves and seeing this katastrof.

http://aijaa.com/QgTVKw

Both connectors are taken some heat and melted..

http://aijaa.com/meHDZc

Extra:
Taking headlamp off and there is some kind of mystic diode project? And one connector free like fish in the sea. Plus horrible home made connections for extra lights.

Hi welcome to the forum it would help if you say which bike this is, better to put it in your sig then whenever you post it saves typing it every time.
you can likely find a wiring diagram at bikecliffes website. http://members.dslextreme.com/users/bikecliff/
to compare what the po has done and yo help sort out the wiring.
have a look at posplayers info for charging test http://www.thegsresources.com/_foru...-Charging-System-Health&p=1138531#post1138531
someone more experienced than I will be along to assist.

Oh, sorry. Just add it sig. But bike is GS1100G. And found youtube videos about how to measure that regulator. Need to learn those wiring diagram anyway.

Thanks!

My guess is that the stator is also burned out. That is about the worst I've seen. When you download or look at the suggested pages, perform the stator tests.

As for the free wire, is it the brown wire? Some Suzuki's had that wire for an "Accessory". I think it's a 10amp fuse powering it. If you don't have an accessory just leave it free.

The diode is necessary, leave it there. When you look at a diagram for your bike, you should see a diode across the wires for the side stand light and the oil pressure light.

In normal operation, if you put the side stand down, only the side stand light should come on. If you stop the engine with the 'kill' switch, both the oil light and the side stand light should come on. Having TWO lights come on is meant to attract your attention that you have a problem.

Connector? Yes, that one is dead and needs to be replaced. No way of telling if the regulator is still good, but this would be a GREAT time to upgrade to a series-type regulator found on Polaris ATVs. Not sure if you have them available over there, but it might be worth the effort to get one. You can check the stator to see if it is still good with a few simple measurements with your voltmeter.

Regulator was dead like a fish in the owen. One leg just and just react when measuring ohms. And stator... Nothing happened when measuring all wires, is that right to measure ohms wire to wire?

Okay. That need some money to repair. Aftermarket or oem stator? Which brand or whatever brand? Best is if parts found in europe. Germanian guy has that kind of china packet. 100? kli kling. Stator is dry or wet in oil? I assume that is quite easy and fast replace.

And R/R like that. With shipping ~150?+taxes+ + + + kli kling.

Yes you should have resistance between the 3 wires to each other but no resistance to ground (earth). Aftermarket is usually a lower price and work well.

I put a used Honda regulator off os a Silver wing on my old GS1100 G, which is no my brother's bike. I think I have some spare ones, too, but I'm not home now. The resistance in the plugs overheated the connectors. It may have over worked the stator and regulator too. Common problem.

Just bought stator from http://www.electrexworld.co.uk/
110€ including shipping.

Next im find R/R.

Polaris oem 4012941 R/R found by local dealer. 155€.

Next need connectors for that. But where.. or can i connect wires something else style? Like Abico connector. But dont know yet connector pin size, in pics seems quite wide connectors in there. Im asked those wires and connectors my dealer, "no we dont have these separately, need to buy full polaris cablesystem and thats 800€". No thanks, dont have whole polaris, but need some parts anyway, bye.

Now im poor like a fish in the sea, but someday im happy like child when blasting fuel out of the pipes. -You know what i mean.

you can either connect with good quality spades and use a potting material to insulate or use the triumph connector as below cost around ?8-10 in uk see below.

Cut off the two small plugs then carefully split the harness so you have one plug with two brown and two black wires twist the Browns together likewise with the blacks so you now have a plug with one brown and one black so to speak.
The brown connects to the red wire in the bikes harness where the original rectifier/regulator red connected to, know as the T connection on various posts on here.
The black connects to the single point ground see many posts on here or just use the search facility for information.
The three blacks on the other plug connect to the three wires that come from the stator it does not matter which wire connects to which ( there is no polarity)
All joints where twisted together soldered and shrink wrapped.
The two left over wires in the bikes harness can be taped up and tucked away as they were for the handle bar loop and are not in use now.

Whoa, thanks for all help guys!

Could you recommend any good website/shop from uk where i can spent some money? Fowlers? First which i found google search.

What, no photo credit? ;)

This is the way to go, and the connectors come preloaded with a thick yellow dielectric grease packed in them as well.
