If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

So after lunch today I was out for my Sunday ride. My buddy hasn't got his ride on the road yet so I was doing another solo. I had some chores to do so I figured I'd have a quick scoot down my favourite road and head from home in an hour or so.

The road is on an escarpment overlooking Lake Ontario and goes in the direction of Niagara Falls. Beautiful day. Warm but not hot. Dry and clear with fluffy clouds.Spring is definitely here and in the air.

I'm riding along and passing a few riders as this is a popular route. I check my mirrors and I see a bike coming up rapidly. A cruiser by the looks.

He zooms up to me but then quickly drops back about 100 feet. I wick it up a bit and he follows, never getting any closer than 100 feet. Fine I think and get back into my ride.

There are not many stops on that stretch and I'm not thinking about the dude as I pull up to the first 4 way stop. I look in my mirrors and he's not there but then I glance to my right and he's sitting next to me. WTF?????
He's not looking at me just sitting and blipping his throttle like he wants to dance.

When clear I pin it thinking he's going to go but no he just comes off slow and easy. Zooms right up to me and then drops back that 100 feet.

The next stop comes up and its a repeat. I flip the visor and yell "What can I do for you?" Nothing. doesn't even look at me. WTF?????

I wait a bit thinking he'll go. He doesn't. He's waiting for me?? When clear I pin it again but this time I take her up to 10Gs in 4 gears and I'm flying. I look for buddy and sure enough he's coming like a freight train. WTF gives????

There is one final stop at a T intersection but just before it is a sweeping "S". I blast it and do my best impression of Valentino Rossi. I arrive at the T and look back for buddy. Nobody. I wait a couple of minutes. Nobody.
Now there is no turn off before this stop other than a driveway or two. So I ride on and assume he turned off at a house. I wonder, though, if he dumped it trying to keep up.

I'm not sure what happened or why he was riding weird. Kinda spooked me.

Boy I don't like sh!tte like that, put a bit of a damper on a fine day.

Ride safe all.

I've never had that happen with another biker, but it has happened with ricky racers in cages. All it really does is irritate the crap out of me. LOL

I bet he went wide in one of the corners and is laying in the ditch now.

Sounds like a Stephen King novel.

Damn, you got that right. That's what I was thinking lying in bed last night. Especially after this : http://www.900chml.com/Channels/Reg/NewsLocalGeneral/Story.aspx?ID=1096209

This was at the exact location about 1 hour after my incident. Talk about spooky. Maybe it wasn't death on a pale horse, might have just been hurt a biker on a blinged out cruiser.

We're all hoping the rider pulls through. At the moment, she is in a coma and in serious condition with multiple broken bones. Don't know her myself but she is friends with several folks on our local forum.

I think for awhile I'll go the other direction for my rides.

Ride safe all.

Wow, you should notify somebody about the experience with the attempted intimidation by the weird rider in the same area as the crash.

he's prolly sitting in a bar somewhere telling his buddy about the weirdo he was riding behind ;)

The guy behind.

The guy behind.

I've been driving fast for years. I discovered that it's unnerving to have to ride faster than the vehicle behind, and it's easy to be the one following.
I don't make the mistake of jumping out ahead of a vehicle that may try to compete. I slow down if followed by a tailgater, that's the only way to force them to pass.
Once I stopped behind a Harley at a stoplight, because my bike was not running good enough to count on blowing him away. When he pulled out I followed at a polite distance. He turned off prematurely, I'm sure because I made him uncomfortable. Further ahead I turned off myself on my route and happened to see him waiting at a light as I drove by.
This guy you saw was harmless and was not concerned with you at all, it was just that he was behind that gave you anxiety.

Just an update on the rider. She apparently suffered a major trauma to the ball and socket of one leg which caused multiple fracturing of the pelvis. They are keeping her in a drug induced coma and its still not clear if she'll pull through.

Please keep good thoughts for her.

Be safe everyone.

That is a good point, it might have been nothing but perhaps the guy you saw did the same to her soon after... doesnt hurt to make a report.
