A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

TCK, I am using 41mm '93 GSXR 1100 front fork tubes. The '82 GK has 41mm forks.
That is why I acquired the triple trees to install on this project. ;)

The front forks will raise the front end 1.5" if I don't raise them in the trees.
I am also going to raise the rear to match.
I am using the rear swing arm from an '86 GS1150EF also. :D
The idea, is to make a restified bike using Suzuki parts from 3 decades.

God Damn man how many bikes do you have????
Nice project btw
OH and how is the girl?

You'll need to modify it again......

You got to have sterring stops or you'll end up having the front wheel tuck in too tight on you when you don't expect it to, and down you go. and it will be a highside. OUCH!

After being side tracked with the 1200G, '63 Pan head, '79 GS1000E from junk and the CB 750F projects, it was time to spend a little time on this one!
Apparently, the '82 GK triple tree lowers don't like the '79 frame!

I had to remove that section from the steering head.

Perhaps tomorrow I will find some more time for it.

It does have stops. I'll show you the differences in the two heads/lower trees and you will see it clearly. ;)

Never mind.

That was the steering lock tab. But you might need to check the stops too.

It'll have to wait a few days.....

I'm in a motel room in Panamint Springs CA.

At anothe ST rally till Monday.

You made it over the pass before the snow I take it?
Panamint Springs is Death Valley. I guess that you aren't too close to snow right now. LOL!

Went the back way through Hawthorne and RT 6 to Bishop. It was cold and dreary but mostly dry.

Did you get the 1100 G back together?

Yeah, it'll be a really nice ride home.

So does it run better now?

I have a set of brackets to fit Hyabusa 6pots to that fork...

You could have used the GK forks, probably the same technology. The GSXr ones are just damper rod forks too...

The 1176cc (76mm bored/sleeved '78 1000 cylinder) engine parts went into this 1100 bottom end yielding 1198cc's:
