All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I checked your albums for pics but you have none...

Do you want to post some up?

I got the engine in the stand and sorted through some of the parts today...

Modded the oil pick-up with a couple of holes drilled to the rear of the engine.

Some of the gathered parts...

Got these coated skirt pistons from Flaming Chainsaws. They should stay a little cooler than stock pistons in the center cylinders. ;)

Ignition system...

Probably use the black covers.

Haven't decided on using the .345 lift or the .370 lift cams yet...

Hardened cam chain guide...

And going to blow the dust off of these 36CV carbs...

More later...

That engine stand is pretty clever. Also love the parts porn. Nothing better then having more parts then you need to pick and choose from.

Slick idea on the oil pick-up (pun intended). You'd think it would have been fed from the rear originally. Let me know if you decide to part with either of those sets of cam covers, black or chrome. Mine are TOAST!

Perhaps some of the reason for adding a top-end oil system?
I am installing the Hi-pressure gears and a cooler with synthetic oil instead.
The rockers have hardened faces also.
We'll see if that is enough with the pick-up mod.

The 850 fits the frame better and hides the brake lines. I'd go with that one.

Still Happening?

Still Happening?

How is this project going??
Single shocked yet or, went with the 1150 arm?

Project has been on hold once again.
But, I have decided that it will not be the run of the mill 1166 either. ;)
It will be a nice mellow 1197cc's instead. :D

Daniel

Sleeved 1150 cylinder and new coated 11:1 1197cc piston's showed up today! :twistedevil:
Should go nicely with the over-sized valves, race ported head and .370/.370 camshafts. ;)

If I get a welder to cooperate, I'll be working on the suspension mods real soon.
Last year, I put this project on hold as to not upstage another forum member with his Cooley build. (It still wasn't running)
I built 4 other bikes in the meantime though. ;)
Ready to get to the fun toy now! :twistedevil:

Daniel

As was pointed out to me, I have gotten two of our African friend's combined into one. :o
"Matchless" is the one that pieced together the fairing puzzle.
That still does not take away from the simply FANTASTIC JOB that "Flyboy" has been doing to his project that I am envious of. ;)

Daniel

I've somehow managed to miss this one so far Daniel, but tuning in now :D
