    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have Kenda Challengers on my 450 and while dry riding feels fairly stable (as I found on our Hill Country ride is more than fair) but add one ounce of water and I feel like I'm on ice. Is this the tires? I'd like to get new tires for our 450S, if this is the tires I'd like to avoid them - despite their bargain price.

I am probably over-cautious in the wet, but even sampling a little lean I get slipping, or at lest it feels like it is. I have tons of tread left on both front and rear.
 
Yes, the Kenda's are slick in the wet. That combined with a newbie mistake caused my first crash last year. Luckily, Izzy and I only had minor injurys. They work pretty well in the dry, but be real careful in the wet.
 
I have found that Metzlers grip fairly decent in the wet, compared to the Chen shengs I had on before. Bill
 
My Dunlop 491 elite 11's seem to do extremely well in wet or dry so far.

I also have Dunlop 491 EliteII. They grip very well in the wet.
 
Well then, from now on I'll be looking for different tires. Houston is not a place to be riding year-round with tires not good for wet weather. Its been raining here for about 3 weeks or more now. blech

Thanks for the tire recommendations, I'll see what sizes they offer.

Thats when you get the best spin on the back tire. Just crank it and spin. If the back end comes out just ride side ways with the front tire pointed where you want to go, and keep on crankin.
 
yeah, I always whack the throttle when I'm crossing white lines at intersections. It's good for the heart. :)
