Hi . maybe is wrote somewhere but I didn,t find. I think I know what cause clearance bigger but smaller ....

I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Returning Visitors
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.
The valves wear at the contact point with the valve seat, as the valve wears it "recedes" into the head, so the end of the stem gets longer and takes up clearance. They can go the other way, but it's rare, as something else has to wear to do it such as the cam lobe or cam bearing. Usually those don't wear unless they run dry, then they burn up quickly.
Another common cause is that whoever set the valve clearances last didn't know what he was doing.

I set mine on the high end of the specs because they never loosen, only tighten up
Yep.
The technical term is "valve recession". It's a combination of wear on the valve and valve seat where the valve basically recedes into the head.
I think we notice it more because the acceptable valve clearances on a GS are incredibly small -- most engines use a lot more clearance. But in all the motorcycle engines I've had my grubby mitts on, valve clearances tend to decrease very slowly with the miles (assuming the engine is running normally). Once in a while you'll see what looks like an increase in clearance that proves to be just heavy carbon buildup from a bike with other problems. Once the engine is running right again, the carbon quickly wears away again and clearances close up. That's why I always recommend double-checking valve clearances after running a resurrected bike for a few miles -- you don't really know what things look like in there.
