A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I buy 5/16" Gates fuel line in 25' roll. 3/8" on the hopped up scooters.

Daniel

I use rubber fuel ine from the VDub dealer -- 7mm ID. Fits perfectly.

I went to my local shop...they did not have 7mm but they did have 1/4 inch. 7mm =0.275590551. So 1/4 is just a bit smaller, I should be able to get it on the petcock.

If that line is reinforced, you will have a very HARD time getting it over the fittings.

5/16" line is real close to 8mm, so you HAVE to use a clamp.

The OEM line is the perfect 7mm and thin-wall, so it curves nicely and does not kink, as long as you have the right length.

Splurge. Treat yourself to the real stuff. It's $11.32 at G&S Suzuki.

HOSE, WATER DRAIN (L:2000->670

Yeah, it's called "water drain hose" because it's used somewhere else for that purpose. :p

That "L:2000" tells you that it's 2 meters long.

.

Wow... a 6' fuel line?
No, read the description again.

They only use five feet of that for the water drain, you cut off the extra foot and use that for your FUEL line. :p

.

Okay, i get it. Just cross-referenced part #. Thanks for clarification, Steve. :)

I ordered so-called Water Drain last week, so if anyone is in need of OEM fuel line, I'll have enuf for 4 or 5 more bikes. No wonder that part is so pricey!

Tygon that is rated for gasoline is yellow in color.

Got this from Tygons web site

Tygon? Formulation F-4040-A Tubing
A consistent performer lot after lot, Tygon? Fuel and Lubricant Tubing is the most requested fuel and lubricant tubing for a variety of applications -- from small engine fuel lines to coolant transfer. Specifically designed to handle most fuels and industrial lubricants, Tygon? Fuel and Lubricant Tubing resists the swelling and hardening caused by hydrocarbon-based fluids. This significantly reduces the risk of failure due to cracking and leakage. Its minimum extractability safeguards the liquid or vapor being transferred against adulteration.

Extremely flexible (Shore A, 57), Tygon? Fuel and Lubricant Tubing simplifies installation, even in tight places. It is translucent yellow for positive identification and to allow easy flow monitoring. It is routinely used to handle gasoline, kerosene, heating oils, cutting compounds and glycol-based coolants.

Features

  • Resists embrittlement
  • Compatible with most petroleum-based products
  • Resists swelling and cracking
  • Ozone and UV light resistant
