A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Jake, I put in the 145's, I couldn't tell much difference in seat of the pants feel. I'll try to get to the track to see if my mph changes any. Thanks for the advise. Mike J

It's not getting any better. I'm in a slump. Broke out again with a 9.847 on a 9.85.

Last yeay it was how slow the bike was, now its too fast.

Your taking too much. Real em in!!!

Just making sure you don't starve your engine at the end of the track. You want it to pull until the valve's float then you know the jetting is right. OK maybe you want to shift before they float but you get my idea 8O :D

Also maybe pull the plug on your exhaust and see how she runs ??

We got rained out again, so I didn't get to see if the jets helped. Probably will be two weeks before I can get back to test, bummer. Mike J

Out making my license runs this week. 4 1/8 mile and 2 full passes. New personal best 9.73 @ 133. 3100 feet DA. This thing should fly in the fall.

I also found a problem with the air valve on my air clutch. It was causing the clutch to come out really slow. No wonder I can't cut a light. We'll see what happens saturday.

I actually have a adjustable needle valve on the exhaust side of the air clutch valve to adjust the release rate. It seems like there is always this fine line between wanting it to lock and how much power is available. Hope you get yours worked out.

Good going on that new record!!!!

Was playing with the old GS on Friday and a guy on a snowmobile next to me that went through the traps at 150MPH. I thought that was really something, until Saturday when one ran the 1/4 in 7 something. It was a new track record, but he could not back it up.

I assume your question was real being from Florida. You are right, they are made for the snow but they run them in the bike class on the same asphalt track. They remove the skies, track and sliders. They use something like in-line skates in the front. The track is sort of like a slick. No real tread. The sliders are then all rollers. They normally have a cooler and small pump to drain the water from the block at cool the engine between runs.

The sled that made the 7 second charge was a four stroke with a turbo charger. Sorry, no pictures this time.

That's just great!

First it's the Jr Dragster kicking my butt, and now we got snowmobiles. Whats next granny in her scooter :-k

I bet my GSX Limited SeaDoo would kick his butt if I'd could only figure out how to mount some wheels on her.

Someone was telling me that this was the first snowmobile to run in the 7's. A new world record. All at our little track.

I don't think you need to worry about the snowmobiles getting that far south. Unless there is no snow and they sell them real cheap. In that case you may want to try one yourself.

I look at them and think, man is that thing going to roll if anything happens. I think they look at the bikes and think, man am I glad my sled is so wide and low to the ground, those bike look way too dangerious. The car guys look at anyone not in a car as having some sort of mental problem.

I am not sure what to say about the Jr's. They are big around here as well, but they never run outside of their own class. It's good that they let the kids enjoy some sort of racing sport. I just wish that IHRA and NHRA had programs like this for motorcycles.

Racing jake,LecroyMike J,Rosco15, next weekend is my first run at a 1/8 I have taken all your advie on board so far, any final tips other than give it heaps, still in the shed trying tidy the old girl up got a miss at4000 that coughs reckon my mains are a bit blocked has any one heard of guauze filters inside your carbs next weekend I will post a damm fine time or my clutch will exspire

Just have FUN !

Don't worry about the guy next to you, fast or slow.
Just make runs and tune the bike as needed.

Good Luck

Take it easy till you get used to the glue they use on the starting line. Leave like your leaving a stop sign at first. Then slowly start going faster and faster. It's addictive.

A new drag member in the making? Have fun!!

Things I see people do wrong their first time....

Don't stage your back wheel.
Dont use the center of the lane.
Don't wear tennis shoes & blue jeans, even if they allow it.
If your on a street bike with street tires, it will be like riding on ice. Be careful.

I'm tired of rain. We've been rained out the past three weeks in a row. I'm tied for first with one week left. The bike is running good. Last week before the rain I went 9.89 9.89. I went out today for a special car event to get a couple time trials in. Ran 9.82, 9.84 and 9.84. Next week will tell the tale.
