If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I had to post these pics for my buddy Ken (Jadesystem). He has quite a collection of vintage UJM's. Not pictured is his Honda Nighthawk. Here in the first photo is a Honda Interceptor, Suzuki GS1100ES, a Honda custom, and a Yamaha FJ1100.

And his latest project, an '85 GS1150. Oh, there's the Nighthawk.

The oil pan drain plug threads were stripped, so the pan came off for repair. Might as well remove & clean the oil pump screen while I'm down here. Damn! This old pan gasket must have been painted on with Gorilla Snot! Another PO legacy!

Hard at work to get this bike ready for the 2nd Annual Western States Rally in July!

I like that second bike over!

Where did the seat come from?

I hope Ken jumps in to explain. He doesn't visit the GSR much. The GS1100 has a stock seat recovered with red Italian leather. I like the way it accents the blue/white paint job. I think Ken said he has extra material he will be using on the 1150.

60's with 0% chance of rain. Let the racing begin. I turned the storage trailer back into a race trailer yesterday. I'm very near ready to go.

Please take some videos of the clutch!

Mid to high 60's for Saturday. Have a safe and fun ride!

im so p/o. The guy thats painting my fairing said that it would be done today. Guess what. Not done yet. I'm going to make some passes on the busa and just tinker with the clutch on the gs tomorrow. Set the stall etc. I was really looking forward to making some runs with it. I guess thats what I get for having the fairing painted as a favor. Would have been better off buying the material and painting it myself.

I just figured you would be setting up the clutch all day. The fairing won't be that big of a problem will it?

With it being the only T&T before the season starts I just hope that it's not so packed that I can only make 2 runs.

I'm worried that with that dash on there it would make the bike unstable at speed. It sticks up like a big air catcher and I've never made a pass on the bike without a fairing covering the top of it. I figure once I get the rpm set I need to launch it and plug thru a couple gears to really see what going on.

I figured you would only care about the first second or so, well that and if you can ride it back.

Your right. I was just having a tantrum. I'll let you know how it goes. Need a whats going on at the tracks post soon.

LOL, Yes maybe this weekend we can start it.

I guess they finished the 1100 head today. One small problem, it sounds like they prep'ed it for a funny bike. LOL. Your old cases are really getting some nice stuff for as slow as I plan to run it.

Also, took a trip down south yesterday to pick up some VP C16 fuel. I had been running Torco MACH 118NOS, but with all these problems Terry was asking about the fuel. Just one less possible cause. Close to the same spec's, so I am not holding out for a cure.

I got the new jets in as well and set the carb up. A lot of tests to run if I get a chance. Who knows, if the track is not too busy, maybe a new record for the old girl...

Good Luck. just went out, put the body back on, and gave it a fresh dust off.

Hello Everyone

Hello Everyone

In regards to the garage, I apologize for the "mess" as I have been inundated with these 80s machines. Thanks to Tom for being so kind
as to record this historic event. And to my lovely wife for putting up
with a hobbyist, who has taken most of the real estate in the garage

As for the question for Lecroy, the seat was custom fabricated by
an upholstery shop here in San Jose, CA. I specifically brought a picture,
my seat and seat pan, and the dimensions to the shop owner. I wanted
that certain look, feel, and comfort to go into my bike. Yes, I wanted
the "Chinese" red color too.

2 weeks later, I get a call from the shop owner that he has some killer Italian red leather, and for me to check it out. For the price of vinyl, I
got an awesome deal for Italian leather. His assistant did a great job.
The seam lines are awesome, and it is very comfortable. I will do my GS1150 seat the same way, but this time I will negotiate a deal for 2
sets of these seats - one Porsche tan leather and the other the same
red Ferrari Italian leather. The upholsterer has many leather fabrics
now, with a wide variety of colors. Leather will outlast vinyl with many more years of comfort and reliablility.

I will also custom paint 2 sets of bodywork for the 1150 - one will be
pearl white. The tan matches the pearl white, and the red too. Any of
the combination of the two will work. I have yet to finish this GS1150,
but when I do, I will submit it to the "Bike of the Month" club.

Thanks to TOM MC and RenoBruce for all of their diligent efforts and
encouragement, I am a GS fan for life. There is no other machine that
is fun and practical to work on.

Ken
