A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So I had a problem with my wheel which made it unsafe and I had to buy a new wheel. I am going to check the splines tonight on it and give it a good once over if I have time also. When I got the wheel today it had a pretty new tire on it. I had bought new tires and had them mounted on my wheels and then found that the one wheel was unsuable. So now the question is which Tire to use? I will give you the most info that I can and comments would be greatly appreciated on this topic. Ok do my new tires I have on my "old" wheels are the cheng shin hi max and are brand new but the one is on a broken wheel. Now what my "new" back wheel has a Dunlop d404 I think it is and manufacture date is 20 08 which seems to me that if it was on a bike at most they had one summer to ride it. So do I just keep the dunlop on and save the time/money of getting it transferred etc. Is that safe to have cheng on front and dunlop on back? So what do you guys think?

Ride the Dunlop until it wears out and then move the Himax over and ride that. No worry with front and back being different brands/models.

Ride it and see, most combinations work OK together, some feel a little funny, a few are completely unsafe. Wet pavement brings out the unsafe.
So try it on your bike and see what you think. It will probably feel fine.

Go ahead and ride the mixed combo.

The Dunlop will probably wear out quick enough for you to also use the rear Hi-Max before the front Hi-Max wears out. :-\\\

Agreed. The Dunlop 404 will be fine, but it will wear out very quickly. Slap on the HiMax when it starts feeling weird and ride some more.
