A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

wheel swaps for 1977 gs750

garyS-NJ

Forum Mentor
Sorry I'm doing a last minute run to a far off motorcycle junkyard to get a carb set for another bike and was just thinking of the 1977 gs750 I'm bringing back to life. The front forks and spokes are very rusted as are the rear spokes and the rear tire or disc might be off as the rear caliper drags on and off. and it has the single disc front end,. I was thinking of a complete front end swap along with the rear wheel now going with a cast mag wheel..

I'm sure there are a million posts to search here on this basic upgrade but I have to get on the road to get back and sleep a little before work..

So in a nutshell, recommendations for swaps?? is it only the early GS750 or will stuff from the GS1000 work? what about later suzis like a Katana or GXR? or other manufacturers?? I'm not focused on keeping stock as I planned to flip the bike (keeping a '79GS1000 and have a katana750, an old CB750f, and a big touring bike.).

Thanks!!!

Convert shaft drive rear wheel to sprocket

Convert shaft drive rear wheel to sprocket

The junkyard was a mess but they have a gs550 with mag wheels and dual discs up front but its a shaft drive. Is there a conversion plate to turn a shaft drive wheel into a sprocket for chain drive? I have the '77's 750 spoked rear wheel
