DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi,

I have a 1982 GS750T with the single discs and drum brakes in the back. In the future I would like to convert them over to something more substantial. I noticed that certain 80s model 1150 models have the dual disc up front and disc in the back. They look like they would work. The thing is though, I don't really want to change the stock appearance too much and the 1150 has a different style wheel.

Another option:

It also appears that an 83 GS850 wheel is the same look as my T but with dual discs...but this bike is a shaftie, so the rear mag won't work. I might could live with the drum on the back as it is, but does anybody have any other ideas? It's a 19" up front and a 17" in the back. Here's a pic of the bike so you can see the mags. Notice they are similar to the old style, but they don't have the X cross.

Here's a pic of an 850 wheel on ebay.

I would guess that 750 L front has a similar pattern and dual discs ..

Same as mine

Same as mine

I have a 1982 750L and it has the same brake setup. I have a 1980 750L and it's different..as I recall It has dual discs up front and one rear...I will have to look again

Your current front wheel should have provision to add an extra disc, problem is the fork leg can't take a caliper. Also, the single disc rotors are typically larger than most dual disc rotors.

It might be easiest to find an entire front end off another bike. You can reuse your current wheel to keep the look you are looking for.

Good luck.
