DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I'm looking for a set of carb boots for a 1981 GS550, but am not finding. I looked at Z1 and bikebandit, as well as oldbikebarn. Nada.

You guys know any secret headquarters somewhere where they keep all of this? Like a fort knox of carb boots?

Here are a couple of others

There was a recent recommendation here about Carolina Cycle. I have not used them yet but thier prices are the least expensive I have seen so far. I have used World of Cycles and they are not real quick on shipping parts but are not very expensive either. Remember you are ordering 26+ year old parts so I do not think anyone is going to have them on the "shelf". You could also check your dealer for a price. My local dealer is the quickest way to get parts but you do pay a premium price and sales tax for the faster service.

To clarify, these are only available from Suzuki. They are not available as aftermarket parts.

So visit your favorite source for Suzuki parts and order up a set. Don't forget the o-rings, if your model uses them.

Believe it or not, this past year in buying parts for my GS1100G the dealer has been quicker and cheaper in more than a few cases, when you factor shipping costs and shorter turnaround time. We don't have sales tax in NH anyway so that is not a factor. I'm not saying always, just about 40-50% of the time. I would not have believed this was case. Ex: air filter, carb synch adapters, some gaskets, to name a few...and the 2 dealers I've dealt with have been friendly and helpful. surprise...surprise!

That might be true for Suzuki parts (I did not look any of them up), but I am in the process of rebuilding the carbs on my son's Yamaha Venture Royale, so I am getting o-rings, gaskets and diaphragms (all four have pinholes or worse ). I just compared Carolina Cycle's prices to Flatout's prices, and Flatout beat them on every single item. Sometimes not by much, but the total difference was $5.25 per carb.

maybe I'm just retarded.

Perhaps I'm just blind, stupid, or both, but I am not finding carb boots or o-rings at any of these sites. I've emailed all of them with no reply. I'm looking at their schematics for carbs, cylinder head, and air. Nada.

Treat me like a small, tired monkey. Hold my hand. Where?
