A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I've tried ebay and all the other 'old Suzuki' parts places that I can think of. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Post or PM your ideas.

Thanks....Mark

I got the one for my 79 from Bikebandit.

www.bikebandit.com

Make sure you get the correct one, there's a different MC for the single disc versus the dual disc.

It's not listed on the Cycle Recycle 2 web site, but if anyone could help you out, it would be these guys. They can get a lot of stuff they haven't bothered to list on their site.

Give 'em a call:

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the help!

You guys are great. It's nice to find a site where people actually care to help each other.

Thanks again.

if those dont help, a good bet is to check out the salvage yards.

I needed one for my '80 gs 850 L, and deciding not to go with the dealers back-order to japan (1 month waiting time) found one through an old jap parts dealer.

i'll bring the link for a list of alot of places around canada that could be successful.

I think your only possibilities are a place like Bikebandit or a dealer for fronts on a pre-80 or 81 (the ones with the round reservior). I'd hesitate to use salvage, it's an 'unknown quantity' in this case. I've been finding though that when there's a leaky master cylinder it's really just jellied brake fluid causing problems, and a thorough cleaning puts it back to 100%. Provided of course the miles aren't that high, but most bikes seem to do more sitting than mileing. You put 100k on a master cylinder though and there's a good chance it's worn out.
