A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi, I have had my bike in the shop for the last month and so many days and the mechanic just let me know that I need to get him some replacement mixture screws for my 1977 gs550 carbs. Can anyone let me know where to get them from the best source? I've seen carb rebuild kit, repair kits, ect.., but not a set of mixture screws anywhere....

Easiest way I know to get the pilot fuel screw is in a K&L carb rebuild kit for the ‘77-‘79 GS750 – it’s the same part as the 550. Gaskets are the same as well. Kind of expensive if all you need is the fuel screws - $18 each kit. http://z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=487

I’ve heard that you can get the OE screw from a Kawasaki but they cost just as much as the entire K&L kit.

Not trying to shill but I happen to have a set of fuel screws from a ’77 GS550. Shoot me a PM with an offer if interested.

Thanks Nessism! I will send you a pm. BTW, Z1 also lists this carb rebuild kit for the gs550: http://z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=504 . Are these the same as http://z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=487 ? Just want to make sure.

No.

You need these kits:

Although I would just buy Ness's parts for less money. Remember it is $18 per kit. And you need 4 kits.

This kit is for the 550 carbs but it does not include the fuel screw. You need the 750 kits to get the fuel screw.

BTW: Supergrafx bought the fuel screws from me. Glad to see them go to a good home.:)

I stand corrected :) I completely missed your earlier post where you clearly explained that.

Glad it worked out for both of you.
