A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I am thinking I may be wrong on a 16 valve bodywork GS 750 shaft.
I will agree with you on that part. :p

On the other hand, there are those that have never seen an 850GK, either. :-\\\
My fairing isn't quite right, but the back end is all official Suzuki. :D

Still looking to no avail.
I remember the add to some extent.
The price was under 2000.
The bike looked well taken care of..
I remember he said it was extremely rare. (know how that goes though)
Possibly it was a 700 shaft drive that I also cannot find?
Here we go again! :D

P.S. Still saving and looking into the polaris RR also.

Are you sure you were not looking at a Honda?

Yamaha imported a 900 Seca in 1983 (it was available in Europe, Australia, and South Africa for years though) that was shaft drive and somewhat resembled a 1983 GS750E. It is quite rare in the USA. Perhaps one of these is what you saw in the ad.

You can look all you want, but you will never find a 1983 GS750 shaft drive bike in the USA or Canada. Ain't no such critter ever existed. You might as well be looking for a sasquatch.

My mom's neighbor has a 900 Seca that just sits on his driveway covered, all year long. I need to go save that beauty!

i'v got a Yamaha 900,its a1989 model, over here in the uk its known as a 900f the fairing was remounted as the original design,as per the photo, caused the bike to wobble at speed.

Why such disdain for the "L"? I'm just happy to have a bike.

No, it's not "disdain", it is true sympathy, unless you are a shorter person that does not travel very far at a time. :o

The hump in the seat will basically lock you into one position, and the seat is uncomfortable enough that you will hate that position before very long. Fortunately, the tank is small enough that you won't go much more than 100 miles or so before you HAVE to stop. If you plan on travelling at anything resembling actual road speed, the tall, pull-back handlebars will have you sitting bolt upright, not leaning into the wind. The amount of chrome is a personal taste, some like it, others don't.

Yes, it's more sympathy than disdain.

OK, look in my signature, you will see two Ls there. One is for my shorter wife, and she does sit bolt upright behind a windshield on a custom double-bucket saddle. The tank on her bike is 4.5 gallons, which yields about 150 before switching to REServe.

The other L is my son's bike. That is his little run-around. It still has the nasty seat, but it has lower handlebars and a small windshield, which changes the riding position enough to help.

.

If your happy with the riding position and like the bike then all is good, just don't class all GS's as rubbish if you don't as more people seem to like the NON L's for riding position.

It doesn't matter what you really ride if your happy and the wind is in your face .

.

You will love your L. Make it your own. I ride two of them and they are loads of fun.
