Will a 1999 Bandit 600 rear swingarm and wheel work?

I was looking to just put a modern rear wheel in and I read on here a 4.5 X 17 will fit the GS1100E swingarm. I came across a complete rear off a 1999 Bandit 600. The swingarm, wheel, caliper, sprocket, axle, spacers. I know I would have to weld on shock mounts, but will the front of it slide into where the stocker sits, or is it to wide, to narrow? Any info would be great, I have fried my brain between last night and this morning using the search option looking up wheel swaps and suchl. Thanks.

I know you can unearth more than you want to know with the search function as wheel swaps have been much discussed. I think I have this right off top of my head-

you have three main issues with a swingarm/wheel swap:

1) making the pivot fit the frame, both width and pivot bolt, and making sur e that the swingarm will still move full travel and not hit anything

2) making up shock mounts, either mono or twin shock.

3) getting the chain run straight, and matching engine sprocket chain size to rear wheel sprocket, while also choosing the final drive ratio you want.

you may also be interested in getting more wheelbase, help keep the front wheel down with pumped up engine.

If I recall the stock 1100 swingarm pivot is 226mm wide, this was just posted on this board. Chances are excellent that the bandit arm and pivot will fit easily, got a metric tape measure?

shock mounts easy for twin shocks if that is a steel swing arm, easy but more $ if aluminum. I prefer steel, aluminum ages in troubling ways I can do without. Meaning, I do not want to find out about stress cracks or age cracks in my frames by a wheel coming loose.

That 99 wheel has got to have a 530 sprocket. There are affordable offset sprockets in 530, if you are lucky you will find just the offset you need to get a straight run. Final drive, if you are happy with what you have just get sprockets with same ratio. in other words, 15/41 is ~ same as 16/44, etc.

I have checked an earlier Katana 600 Swingarm, it is almost a direct swap in for an 1150 (EFE) arm. The twin shock frames have shorter swingarms.
