Help on wiring the stator correctly to the regulator\rectifier. Already sure of need to repoace rec\reg due to battery boil but also think previous rewired system. Have Clymer manual the wiring diagram is like reding greek to me at this time. problem started a few weeks ago when i lost all gauge, signal, and brake lights. Whenever i plugged in a nes 10amp fuse turned the switch on pop went the fuse.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

With the info you've given us we can't be much help. Are you using the Suzuki R/R, a direct-replacement R/R from, say, Electrosport, or did you do the Honda R/R conversion? If it's the Suzuki or Electrosport RR, you should be able to plug the stator wires right back in where the old ones came from. On my '83 GS1100GL there were three bullet-terminal-connected wires runnnig down the left side of the bike behind the left cover near the tube towards the rear of the bike. The connectors are inside a black protective boot that also contains a white plug.

Are you actually asking for a factory wiring diagram? You don't state what you want.

Which 10A fuse were you replacing? Time to start chasing back from that point.

I have an '83 GS1100GL and the wiring took a long time to sort out. Don't give up.

the fuse that keeps blowing is the one for signal lights which controls the gauge, brake, and signal lights. the original wiring on the stator to the rec\reg has been modified. according to the clymer manual i have it is incorrect. so maybe i am looking for the original wiring diagram. i am not extremely confident in working on the wiring. NEED HELP!!!

Please be aware that the wiring diagram in the Clymer manual for 1982-1983 GS1100GLs is incorrect.

Discovered this when helping Gert DuPrez diagnose a problem with his '82. The problem is in the wiring under the tank. It is shown in the diagram as a long black bar, just under the starter button icon. The black bar represents a white 9-pin plug that is on the right side of the main frame rail under the tank. The actual problem is the routing of the stator wire that comes to that plug. If you follow the diagram for the 850, you will be better off.

If you are trying to correctly wire your stator and rectifier, it is rather simple. The stator has three wires coming out of it. Color does not matter. The rectifier/regulator will have at least five wires: three of them connect to the stator wires, one (usually red) will connect to the positive terminal on the battery (through a fuse), and one (usually black) will connect to a ground, but should also be connected directly to the negative terminal on the battery. A previous owner might have installed a Honda regulator that has a sixth wire. That should be connected to a switched wire (usually the tail light wire) to sense the voltage that is in the system.
