A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Wonder how he did this?

I saw this listing on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Suzu...yZ133177QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem and was wondering if any of you guys had an idea of how he did the handlebars :)

Don't know how but it sure does look flimsy.
Not the place I would want my bike to break.

I doubt they're that flimsy. Any local machine shop can fab risers like that. You just need something that clamps to the bars and a cross bar that goes into the upper clamp. I used to have some similar risers that looked like a factory suzuki piece. I have no idea where they are now though.

I think its a pretty cool idea and may try to make some more.

The brackets look pretty thick, 3/4" I would suspect. Just not sure how get it on the tipple tree.

Sorry didnt see your post :) If you fab some take a pic!
:-D Better yet, I'll see if I can dig up the Suzi ones this weekend. If I want to make something like that for a bike there's no telling how long it could take lol with 5 projects limping around the yard.

something like those are not hard to fabricate at all. they are cut in one dimention, and drilled and tapped.

Use a program like solid edge, Auto Cad, Solid Works, Inventor.. or any other modeling program to make a draft

Yea I have a copy of solid works but no idea how to use it :P

Oh haha, that could be an issue. You can take drafts to machine shops though to have a proto made.

There are lots of manuals out there for solid works. see if you can find one in a bookstore from a technical school or collage. most universities are using either auto cad 2000 or solid edge V19.

snowmobile accessory. Bar risers are a common thing to the sled set

Like I said, use the factory mounts and run a bar through them, then bolt to that.

I copied the picture and blew it up. You're right, that's how they did it. There's a bar clamped into the stock triple tree with the risers clamped onto the bar.

I bought risers from GenMar for my L. I replaced the stock bars with something more "normal" but wanted them a little higher and further back.

Old school risers

Old school risers

Those risers are clamped around a short section of the stock bars at the bottom. and the new bar secured to the top. I have a pair machined from thick aluminum. Almost identical to the ones in the photo except they aren't polished. Think their either 4 or 6 inch. Removed them from a '69 commando 750 I sold a while back. PM me if your interested I'll dig them out.

Those are like the old Suzuki ones I have.
