A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

looks good so far.... please post more pics later in the project....

Do you have any info on the bike? which G is/was it? year? displacement? mileage? just curious :) Thanks!

The bike used to be a 1100GK if you can belive that, it looked just like this plus chrome trim with lights in it and some extra crap

. I was wanting to make it handle well (gixxer swingarm/front end, lightening) but im thinking more drag bike now. There are plenty other bikes more capable of handling, ill just get one of those. Im lowering it 3 inches, 4 into 1 exhaust, ignition, some cool paint, running the valves, and generally just cleaning it up and putting new bearings and stuff in. As you can see ive chopped off the rear part, I had to get rid of the seat... it was just too comfortable ;)

here are a few more pictures

80GS1000, what were the complications of the gixxer front end? would adding a bit of rake worsen the interference?

This motor is old, eventually I plan on getting a chain motor and swingarm.

here are a few more pictures

That thing's looking pretty damn pimp daddy. I really like the lines of that bike so far.

Where'd you get that rear fender? I like that a lot. I'm gonna try to make one myself out of sheet metal if I can't find a short one. What's going on with those forks too? I can't tell what those are. Also, where'd you get the guage and how'd you mount it?

The speedo isnt solid mounted yet, its just a stock one that I twisted over to see what a single guage looked like, I think I like it better, but a tach would be nice.

The forks are stock slid up in the clamps with the rubber boots from the rear airshocks on them.

rear fender is just one that was laying around the shop, I think its a harley front fender or something.

you can barely see the huge pile of wires I took off this thing in the bottom right of the picture

Anyone know where I can get fairly stiff ~10" shocks/springs without spending my life savings on them? Also Im running a 12v 6 LED array for a taillight/running light. I guess I just need to figure out how to make the 12v signal for the running lights to step down to 6v, then connect both leads through a diode to the positive LED lead. Its been a while since ive done electronics and circuits, can anybody confirm this?
