A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

worst looking start of proj.

sorry for the disorganized photo display. im using photo bucket for the first time.

Just copy the img code from Photobucket and paste it into your post here. Then hit return twice to get them lined up underneath each other with some spacing.

Hope everything goes well during the clean up.

Frame looks good all cleaned up, hope the rest of your project goes as well.

wow night and day. Looks like you are off to a good start

im still having trouble getting pics on one message, anyway ill post more recent pics, the bike is now 95% now the details (carbs ect) the devil IS in the details.

Wow that's some mighty fine-looking work you've done there!

major milestone

major milestone

well i got my carb issues ironed out and got it to start and idle. if it had a chain i could test ride it (also from master cyl) fork oil, close up the headlight, figure out why my warning lights quit coming on, fix signal lights get new front tire, reupholster seat, get grips, helmet, insurance ,paint the tank and fenders, inpection sticker, tags. Thats all i need!6 months in and It has gone from a pile of crap to having signs of life. My goal was to get it ready by october bike week on south padre island to terrorize all the hd posers. (better knock on wood).

getting carbs worked out, have lec. issues (see pst in elec.section) but got it to idle after warm up and put it in gear and moved it for the first time under its own power (4 ft) id go furthur but i need to rebuild the front calipers.

How long since it ran? What's it story of how it cam to you? In another post?

Ill get more pics in. I have to get better at using photo bucket . the pics i put in came out really big.
im using the stock airbox with carbs i got off ebay from a 81 or 82 1100.
its unclear how long since it ran, but the license plates were last renewed in 1998.
when i went to change the tiltle, it wasnt even in the system anymore (which started to worry me). but they were able to re-enter it.
sold my 07 bonneville due to lack of cash and decided I needed anything on 2 wheels. happened along this on c.l. for 300.knew nothing about gs suzukis. my last suzuki was a 72 tc 90 when i was 15. got this one for 275, but ill probably be at around 1000 by the time im done. plan to take it around the block in the next week or 2, which im dying to do.

God bless you for saving that GS. Keep up the good work!:)

PS: We need more PHOTOS!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D

forgive the confusion, i havent posted many photos. still needs seat reupl. button up headlight, brakes are not up to par. that being said this is a momentous day for me. i actually rode it down the street a couple of times. feels pretty good only got thru 2 gears because its not st leagal, but what the hell. im psyched! and im working on the paint for the tank still.

must be gettin old

must be gettin old

been pushing the envelope a little more on my project. But ive dodged the bullet on some forgetful mistakes.
1st trip down the block forgot to tighten the end caps on the front forks, no harm.
2nd trip down the street on another day got back and noticed that the front axle nut want tightened.
decided to rechange the oil today before taking it to work (10 miles). the drain plug was finger loose.??
took it a couple of miles to open it up and the back wheel turned out to be loose. tightened it up and took it out again. realized i didnt put the cotter pin in. My guardian angel must be getting fed up by now.
I was building an airplane once but sold it. Maybe I should reconsider that!

^sounds like something i would do haha. looks great. awesome change from start to finish.
