A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Title says it all. I've been looking for new 4-2 exhaust for awhile now and I might have found a new set on Bikebandit for around $230 by Sito, but the exhaust I found is for a GS750 however it is the same year as my GS550 and I was wondering if the exhaust would fit my 550?

Thanks for any feedback.
Love this site!

how about a better deal on eBay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Suzu...020QQitemZ300212704721QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

i believe it says that it's OEM and from 77-80 for the GS550. check it out

edit: oh and it's only up to $55 so far

I'm pretty sure that system is off an L model. It will fit on a standard 550, or an E, but you will have to slot the muffler hanger bolt holes and bend the centerstand tang to clear the muffler. My 550E has the same mufflers and that's what I had to do.

The L series muffler has a pretty distinctive rumble sound and are louder than the regular mufflers at low rpm. Personally, I don't like the way they sound and have been looking for some stock mufflers for my 550. To each their own I suppose.

see mine look just like that, and they're pretty nice and quiet... of course i still don't know what letter i have... E? L? Q? lol i have no clue...

Thanks for the ebay link, will have to see if can get these by the end of the auction. If not, do you think a 750 exhaust would it a 550?

Darn. Thanks for the info. Would you know of any other models and/or sizes that are interchangeable with the 550?

I appreciate the help guys.

:-D
