A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Got a silly request.

I've got my 1978 GS550, and it's running roughly. I'm going to buy a clymer and adjust the valves and clean the carbs. But, I'd like a reference of some other older four cylinder bikes so I know what it should sound like! I can't "tell" without any reference if it's running properly. Does that make sense?

Any format (audio video) is fine...

Yea renobruce, your bike idles so nicely. Cant wait to get my vacuum issues all settled so that i can hear my bike idle as nice as yours.

It sounds pretty close. Do that valve adjustment and carb clean-up. Order the carb oring kit AND intake orings from robert barr www.cycleorings.com Look in the carb clean-up section for some good help and pics. Let us all know if you run into any snags or need any help with anything. :)

What a showoff Bruce :p
I hope you have nightmares of me passing you. All elbows and knees with sh!t flying around and the howl of my Kerker! :D

.... and water bottles exploding in front of me.... LMAO!

A couple of my GS's - always running good!

'79 GS550E - idle revving to 10,000 RPM: http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/158630/bike-video-001.avi

'79 GS550E - idle through third gear, WOT: http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/158631/bike-video-003.avi

I haven't owned that bike in 3 years, but I never get tired of hearing that clip. :)

'83 GS1100E - idle, walk-around: http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/...---spring-2008-5-10-08---walkaround-video.avi

'83 GS1100E - light revving: http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/635323/aod-83-gs1100e---spring-2008-5-10-08---rev-video.avi

Never did the WOT video with the 1100E. :( Unfortunately, I'd be going way too fast WOT in third gear!

I need to record some video of the '71 CB500 for everyone, it sounds sweet.

Hey, what in the heck is wrong with your guys bikes anyway? Where is the clicking, clanking and rattles we're all used to? I hardly recognized them as GS motors! :)
