    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Would these air filters be any good?

hmm well my bike has been out of commission for a few weeks now. but from what i remember it took off pretty good in the higher rpms 7k+ or maybe just when the throttle was all the way open. it would require choke to start and to warm up, but not for too long. about the amount of time to put on my helmet and gloves, but it would stall out if i took the choke off right away. another thing that might factor into this is that my clutch is super noisy and needs some work and it'd stall out much easier if i let the clutch out while in neutral.

I'm doing a fairly decent amount of work on it still before it goes back together so i won't be able to do the choke while driving tests for a while. I'm painting the gas tank & fenders + mounting a new rear harley fender, just got a new petcock for it, need to change the fork seals and replace the front sprocket nut. plus the airfilter/carb stuff. should be a fun next few weeks of avoiding my apartment manager... plus i'm trying to sell my shadow. so my attention is kinda split right now when it comes to bikes.

From the price, I suspect those are Emgo filters. Emgos are dry filters, unlike the K&Ns which are oiled. Personally, I would not run them.
Look at Bike Bandit to see what part(s) you would need to go back to stock.

I run a K&N filter in the air box; you buy it once and then clean it from then on.

I tried the dry Emgo's for a while, which these look like. Since they were so cheap, I didn't feel bad about throwing them in the trash! Don't go cheap on air filters. Either stick with the stock AB with a stock or good aftermarket filter, or go with good pods!
