If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

It's not perfect, but it's got personality now and looks very good overall. Wheels will be powder coated this next week.

Is that various shades of black and gray or a very dark blue? :-k

Either way, ... I like it. :encouragement:

.

The dark color is called 'matte metallic fir' and is green. The light color is matte white pearl. The accents are all in carbon.

Runs great. Jetted, race Yosh, waiting for a time to do the 1229 or 1327 kit.

Question for you guys: Gold for the wheels to match the calipers, or solid satin black?

i like the gold wheels but in your case i think matte black may be the best look.
you may even paint your calipers black.
kind of a stealth look.
the wind screen is a dark smoke.

Oh boy.....you asked for opinions. Personally I think black wheels lend a sinister look to a car or cycle. but I think the satin on wheels may look...unclean....but It seems you're going for the stealthy look, and shine may be out of place in this case.....or it may go nicely with the shine on the screen......heck, I dont know....

I would go black..when I bought black powder coated rims from jwhelan it completely changed the look of my 83 1100...much tougher looking. lol
By the way, the 1150 looks great!!

after...

before..

Thanks for the great feedback, everyone. I appreciate it. I agree, the fir color could make for interesting counter option, but I don't think my powder coater will match the color exactly. Black really does look mean, Trevor (that 1100 looks fantastic with black wheels), I agree. I think I am decided on that.

I have two spare front wheels for my bike was thinking about getting one powdered coated a satin or glossy black. Still need a spare rear to match yet. I think with the orange crush paint job, black wheels would look nice.

I can't help but think that white rims would be a nice contrast and would wrap that beautiful green perfectly. I know white rims would be a constant cleaning process and waaaay less stealthy but I think it looks great on some of the modern bikes.

Beautiful bike and different too. I also think it would look super with white rims but I am prejudiced, having run white rims on 3 of my last 4 project bikes.

As noted, they will need near constant attention to keep clean of road dirt and brake dust, but a quick spritz and brush with a cleaner like Simply Green or similar followed by a bucket of clean water to rinse and you are good to go again. The key is to not let dirt build up I find.

White rims might look pretty good, but I've had white and yellow rims on bikes before and regretted the constant upkeep.

I considered buying this one. The guy wanted $2600 but I was pretty sure I didn't have a hope in Hell of getting it Collector plated......... { a big deal with insurance costs here }
