My gs is sitting in my Florida room without an engine. Its seems that it is about a year in the works. I had to wait out 2 racing seasons so they could take care of the big time parts breakers. I will enjoy the machine when its done. i have a couple of young fellas in the 125 to 135 pound weight class that i may use to run it at the track. But knowing me i will have to try it a few times myself. I think i will need a butt hook though.

http://groups.msn.com/ROAM/domscottysrides.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=1649

It is 1166 here with some carb, exhaust work, a shift light and lower gearing. It needed a hook then. Now i don't know how i will be able to hang on. i will be looking for lots of advice when i get the new engine installed.
The new engine will be 1266/11 to 1 comp+cams+valves+springs+port and polish+flat slides+ clutch work and a pro stock exhaust. I want an air shifter and wider longer swing arm soon after i get the bike running

i looked in on your photos , nice rides all of them. regards ikazuki

I love it. A hot rod bike with saddle bags. Cool Buell too. I like it naked like that. Totally like a Ducati (Monster?). 8) Good looking bikes dude, I'm envious.

The saddle bags are just for trips but i did have a screwy maneuver a couple of years back. i had the worst looking back rest with a luggage rack. I put a 6 container milk crate on it and tied it on with one extremely large plastic tie. The tie was so large that about a foot of the end stuck upward. i had a hard time keeping a straight face when i went to the Harley shop and saw the snickers. I still couldnt get a race though. Now i have 750 bages on it.

Bike looks very nice, but that you can't hold on to the bars isn't a surprise, is it? The apehangers force you back, you need to pull yourself forward (aking arm muscles) and you're not being able to put your weight over the front to prevent unwanted wheelies. Fit a lower (superbike/dragbike style?) bar and things will be better.
Believe me, I know what I'm talking about as I ride an 1168 turbo on the street.

Grtz, Marco.

Marco i have a diferent set of bars lined up . arent you the fella with the website that contains gobs of motorcycle model info?? The name Marco rings familiar. maybe because it sounds italian LOL 8O 8O 8O

Hi Scotty,
We did ''meet'' on the net a couple of times, but I'm not really a model datacollector, so that's someone else. I'm from The Netherlands btw.
When can we expect action pics with the new engine? Why does it take so long to complete the engine?

Grtz, Marco.

i know you are from thr Nethelands. I was going to have a special guest from there last year but life has its ways of turning things around. i also was dreaming of going there someday.

I thought that you have a website for suzuki motorcycles somewhere.
As far as the engine taking so long. When i took it to the builder. He said he would do it for me although he specializes in suzukis for the track boys only. Because of this he told me i would have to be a side project especially when the racing season opened up. another setback was that the head and crank were trashed as a result of an oil pump failure so we had to hunt for parts. To make the hunt more complicated, we were looking for the heavier 1150 crank and what goes on the left end.
I want a strong street motor and not the fastest bike on the street. That's why we chose the heavier crankshaft.

Anyone who likes little richard must be ok

How many ponies do you expect to have when it's done Dom?

right now I have this in my workshop.

hpim0300sm6vo.jpg

It is going in my Katana, cases are back together again. :D

Robin depending on our choice of cams and size of flatlsides they think 175 on the ground is not a far fetched number. One of the builders said 200 but i dont think so.
I will look for a wider and slightly stretched tire and swing arm setup. an air shifter is a must for me these days i believe. Any recomendations from anyone is always appreciater. Marco has me thinking of flatter bars than the replacements that i already have lined up.
That thing you are building is hairy looking robin. :D :D :D :D :D :D

No offense Scotty but I'm still having a hard time understanding how you can get 175 ponies at the rear wheel even with the engine mods that you described, maybe 175 at the crank and 150 at the wheel. Just for kicks after you get it back take it to a reputable dyno that's not at the shop your getting this work done. Especially if you have a shop in your area with a EC997 dynomometer. By the way, DynoJet Dynos suck!!!
Todd

No offense taken. I will find out for sure when its done. Whatever it has I'm not crazy about beating something to death just for a dyno read out. when the bike gets sent out to the tuning guys They will have done the dyno runs at that time. I'm after a very fast nearly bullet proof street bike. I'm not a numbers monger. One last note. Whatever the results are if i choose to post, they will be facts not an estimate or a figmenyt of my imagination. there is too much of this around already.

you are close to the truth le 8O 8O

Scotty,

I didnt mean to imply that you would post some fictitous numbers, I guess my beef is with these shops that proclaim crazy horsepower numbers. I have a friend that spent thousands getting his busa built, the mechanic stated that it would put out close to 230hp, at the shop the dyno read-out came to 195hp from a dyno-jet dyno. Later he had a falling out with the shop and took it to another dyno, it read in the lower 180's also a dyno-jet. Long story short he ended up going to a shop that had an EC997 and was given a lecture on dyno read-outs and "Crank-fluff". I'm not a numbers monger either, I'm just sick of mechanics stating hp numbers that are unreal to encourage business.

Ill see if i need a diferent ignition. Its not for the strip Le

the fact remains that i will get whetever i get. I surely wont subject my machine to a dyno after it has been assembeled and professionally tuned. im sure they will use the crank dyno to do that.
I do intend to go see the bilder soon though. I like wild things.
I think ill have the tank painted with a picture of the tazmanian devil eating a japanese bird.

The stock ignition may be just fine. Mine may be overkill. I'll let you know when I post it.
