A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi again

Im sorry to be a complete numpty............. BUT.........please can you help me.

This is for Montizano....and for my ever growing knowledge.

We know its the coil that is the problem with the bike.....Someone has pinched it.

I know that I have to buy a pair, because if they dont match it could fry the cdi.

I know that the resistance should be about 3 - 5 ohms. (God that disc manual I got is brilliant lol)

BUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! here is where I really need your help.

Ive seen on ebay a pair of coils off a GS1000.

Have also just seen a coil off a GS 750 but 1977.

Would these be any good? or do I need to find a GS 750 es 1983 pair?

If you could help me id be so very grateful.

Check on www.bikebandit.com or www.crotchrocket.com

Look at the part number they have listed for your coils. Then look at the part numbers listed for the GS1000 and 77 GS750 coils.

If they are the same, they'll work.

Pretty much any coil from any 4 cylinder GS (or any of the Big 4) will work, but some will require modification to the connecting wires and mounting brackets.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

I installed coils from a 2002 katana gsx 600,on a 1984gsk 1100.they work perfectly.they should work for your bike too.i paid 28.00 dollars on ebay.why get 20 year old coils when you can get newer ones for the same price or lower.maybe someone else can chime in and say if they would fit your bike.

the 83 750 es uses the late model small coils, early model jumbo coils may not fit.

The newer bikes all use the smaller size coils You can use any of the coils from a Bandit, 90's GSX, RF almost any of the I4 motors
